These poems are almost obsessively unflinching as the author peers into the fragile corners of the pysche of a daughter, mother, and singular consciousness. What she finds are the most poignant intersections of love, death and uncertainty.
Through her highly readable language, both graceful and muscular, Apotheker seeks to stand solidly on the ground...only the ground keeps shifting. This book delighted and moved me. |
