liner sliced my tube on the rollers,

These are too stiff. The seem to work well preventing flats on the road but I happened to have them in my tires while I was on the rollers and I got a rear flat. A flat on the rollers! Opened them up and the end of the liner had caused a puncture in the tube. It had pinched it or rubbed against it or something... not sure how it did it but the hole was exactly at the end of the liner. Too stiff. Get the more 'rubbery' kind.

This product did not reduce the number of flats during my 40 mile daily commute. I have not figured out why. I discontinued using them because replacing my tubes became a minor hassle. I usually inspect my tire for a thorn or nail so using this product forces me to remove the liner for this interior tire inspection. I think a better tube or a better tire would be superior to using this product.

I cannot say enough about these liners. I have pulled multiple thorns, shards of glass, & metal shavings out of my tires with no puncture issues. One morning I heard a loud clicking noise coming from the front wheel. I stopped, looked at the tire and noticed a nail had entered the tread part of the tire, somehow deflected off the slime liner and come out the sidewall of the tire. The clicking noise was the nail hitting my brake caliper each time around. I pulled out the nail and kept rolling - no puncture, no loss of air, nothing! Sure they add weight - I wouldn't race with them, but will ALWAYS run them in my commuter tires.

I bought a nice used bike and always seemed to get flats in the rear tire. It never occurred to me to check the front. Then eventually, years later, I was replacing the tire and noticed the front had a tire liner on it! It was a "lightbulb" moment. Granted you put weight on your bike right on the outside which is not desireable, but for most people who are not professionals its not a huge deal - and I've "passed" people who had sprinted ahead but then they get a flat and have to stop to fix it. What is better depends on your perspective I guess, but for those folks who get tired of changing flats or commute, I'd say these are a no-brainer. I've also had great luck commuting on some old fatboy tires wtih a kelvar belt - no flats and 1000's of miles, had glass hanging out of it but it could not penetrate!
To the guy who had performaance tires and they flatted - no wonder. I bought performance tires once and rode out west at Moab and had like 3-4 flats a DAY! Even after getting back to Texas I continued to get tons of flats, those are horrible tires - that is your problem.

Two flats in first week,

I bought these liners for my daily commute to work in an urban area. Before purchasing them, I averaged around 1 puncture flat per week. The first day with the liners in place I got a puncture flat from a small piece of metal--it went right through the liner of my rear tire. Later that week, the front tire went flat as well--in this case it appeared that the liner had sliced through the inner tube. Of course, it is possible that the tube was defective, although I had been using it for months without any trouble. I took the liners out that week. It didn't help that I was using some cheap Performance brand tires that probably don't have much flat protection to begin with. However, I was really disappointed in these liners. I now have a Jamis Aurora (great bike BTW) that came with Vittoria Randonneur tires that supposedly have some double layer flat protection. I have had this bike for almost a year, and have not gotten a single flat! Instead of the Slime liners, I recommend just getting some good tires.
