As other reviewers have noted, the cigarette lighter plug supplied with this unit is, to put it charitably, fragile. It shattered the first time I attempted to pull it out of the socket. Fortunately, I had other compatible plugs handy that weren't needed for other devices, so I soldered the 12V leads from the compressor into a new plug. Now it works fine.

OK, it's noisy and slow, but for a cheap unit, it seems to pump effectively. With it, I can refill the spare tire on my Prius, which requires 50 psi. All small pumps take a while to fill a tire, but using this unit is a lot easier than delivering 100 strokes with a hand pump.

Garbage April 6, 2009
This worked. Once and only once.

When I first got it, it worked decently well at pumping up my car tires. I then stored it in my car in case of emergencies.

Then came the emergency. I pulled out the trusty little pump to fill a very slow tire leak and lo and behold the entire plug completely falls apart when I plugged it into the lighter. I was left high and dry and wasted half an hour of changing my tire instead of a simple 5 minute pump and driving one mile to my local tire shop.

What a waste of money.

Very good
This pump is kept on the boat for various reasons. Works well but is somewhat noisy. If placed on a rag/towel, much less obtrusive...

Air Compressor
For motorcycle use, carrying it in luggage. Compact, power cord a bit short, but adequate for roadside repairs. Not suitable for larger auto tires, as it is light duty.

Little slow
Works ok, but is slow to fill a bicycle tire to 40 psi, not sure how long it would take on a car tire??

It's small but mighty
I don't know what people expect out of a gadget that costs less than twenty bucks. True, the lighter socket plug finally fell apart, but that was after a couple of years of... Read more

It broke
12volt connector broke the 3rd time I used it. It got really hot when in use but it worked before it broke.

Appropriately named
The name Slime is quite appropriate. This piece of something worked to fill my bike tires once, then the cigarette lighter plug fractured; I replaced that and it worked twice... Read more
