5.0 out of 5 stars A seemingly complicated subject made easy!, January 26, 2000
By A Customer
This review is from: Slimming with the Hay Diet (Picture Know-How) (Paperback)
I love this book! I had heard a lot about the Hay diet, as it is very popular in my native Germany. However, it seemed too complicated for me to even try it. But after lots of other failed attempts to control my weight, and especially with the realization that not a diet, but a lifestyle change was needed, I gave it a try. This book explaines the principles of food combining clearly and, what's more, gives a two week example plan and lots of very tasty recipes that are easy to follow and to make. The portions are generally too large for me which means leftovers and less cooking. And while I am eating to my heart's content, I am losing weight. It is quite remarkable. Because this book makes it so easy to adopt this way of eating into my every-day life, I feel I have finally found the right "diet" for me.

1.0 out of 5 stars Slimming with the Hay Diet, July 7, 2000

July 7, 2000.....PICK ANOTHER BOOK ON THE HAY DIET..... I was Sooooooo disapointed when I received this book. I already read books like or similar to the Hay Diet and was expecting a happy addition to my collection. Instead I am returning this poor excuse for a book. The author starts her forward by stating she has a heavy work schedule and cannot lecture so therefore she "attemps" to write a book. Please, if you have very little experience with the Hay Diet, find another book on this same topic; Don't let the word "slimming" trick you. You will slim down with any Hay Diet. If you know about this diet, this book is not for you either. It is redundant of other Hay Diet books yet, it leaves out information that could be useful. Read other customer reviews on different books. If you find one with all 4 or 5 stars and not any 1's, pick that book. Chances are it will be a good one. GOOD EATING AND GOOD LUCK!

5.0 out of 5 stars Takes the "Diet" out of "Dieting", April 14, 2007
By
This review is from: Slimming with the Hay Diet (Picture Know-How) (Paperback)
After years of accumulating tips/advice on dieting, I bought this book and had to un-learn everything I believed - lost weight/re-gained health. I replaced aspertaine, splenda and imitation foods for real/whole foods. The result was loss of hunger and consistent weight loss. At first, I used the diet under the guildelines of the weight-watcher point system. The book is a great starter book for dieters using the Hay System for weight loss ~ then expand on knowledge with other more advanced books, such as the food combining bible. If you truly want to lose weight and hate the feeling of being deprived... this works!
