I have used an Adesso with bottom trackpad for 12 years, and wanted one "lap-friendly" and always thought a trackpad on the side would be better. This trackpad is unusable except for very occasional use, as it is very tiny. Might work well as a second keyboard for a media center or such, but too pricey for only occasional use. Also too light to use on lap. The documentation is a joke...most of the functionality I had to find online and in Amazon reviews for similar products. It has some cool features but not very useful if nobody knows the exist. Take a pass on this one and buy a cheaper wireless for your media center. This is certainly not worth the price.

This keyboard is really not for everyday use. I purchased one because I have my desktop pc hooked up to my TV for everyday things like watching movies, gaming, browsing, etc. Although I sit no more than 7 feet away, the letters I type are often garbled or don't show up at all. Also, the keys wear very quickly. Under the keys are little white rubber "springs" that tear over time from repeated use. I've only had it for a year and have had to "sacrifice" 7 other keys that I don't use as often to replace the springs in the more frequently used keys. I'm all out of keys I can live without and tried to call the manufacturer about purchasing replacement springs several times, with no response. DO NOT BUY THIS KEYBOARD.

This keyboard is compact with a touch pad on the side. The product is very responsive with good range even hidden inside a CPU cabinet. I just wished they would have made the touch pad a little larger.
