5.0 out of 5 stars Its Slingo on the Go!!
Slingo finally did it this time! After years of being locked up on the PC, playable only at the Slingo web portal, Slingo has finally made the jump to the Nintendo DS with their award winning casual game Slingo Quest. Sure the graphics are cutesy and the sound track is bouncy and repetitive, but that is three-quarters of the fun of a game like Slingo.

3.0 out of 5 stars Gets a little boring
Bought this game because I liked playing the computer Slingo and wanted one that is portable. This game gets a little boring after a while. The little island girls giggle gets on your nerves after a while. I like slingo and will play this just for a break from my other games but not one that I "cant put down". Can take it or leave it.

5.0 out of 5 stars Its Slingo on the Go!!, December 19, 2008

Slingo finally did it this time! After years of being locked up on the PC, playable only at the Slingo web portal, Slingo has finally made the jump to the Nintendo DS with their award winning casual game Slingo Quest. Sure the graphics are cutesy and the sound track is bouncy and repetitive, but that is three-quarters of the fun of a game like Slingo.

It is about mindless entertainment that puts the player, armed only with some super-jokers and some Cherubs, against 60 levels and the accursed point-stealing Devil. Luck determines your actions, but your skill will maximize your score as you tirelessly pour through the 10 enchanted islands of Slingo Quest.

The game play is the Slingo-standard of matching the numbers that appear in the slot reels to the matrix above, but this time you can use the DS stylus to take spins and make matches. Not only is the game play enhanced, but there are all kinds of new game modes to play and powerups to obtain that allow you to bounce Slingos off of the sides of the board and even get all of your spins for free! Take that "Darn Devil"!!

Overall the game is repetitive, but after 15 years of Slingo games thats half the appeal. It is the best way to kill 10 minutes and it is certainly not your grandmother's Slingo. This is a must have for Slingo fans who want to pull themselves away from the computer and play Slingo on the go.

5.0 out of 5 stars Simple but addicting, January 9, 2009
= Fun:5.0 out of 5 stars
This review is from: Slingo Quest (Nintendo DS) (Video Game)
I didn't actually know what I was getting when I ordered this game and when I opened it thought I would be bored within the hour but it turns out to be an amazingly simple yet addictive game as you rush to find the bingo like numbers that are dealt to you with every "spin". It is easy enough for my 5 year old to play although she doesn't make any high scores, it does give her practice to find double digit numbers like a matching game. Since you are given bonuses for finding the numbers quickly and no penalty for taking a long time, she is content enough to go at her own pace. Considering I use my DS to entertain them while waiting in lines, it is nice to have a game that we can both play.

Bought this because I used to enjoy playing Slingo on-line several years ago. It is fun and engaging, not very taxing mentally, but still addictive.

I LOVE this Slingo game as I like all the others that I play on the computer. However on this game there is one level where it says its a four card level but then only one card with a pattern comes up...I don't know if this does it in everyone's or just mine but when I compared it to the one on the computer it was a mistake. Just as a warning!! Crazy on Little Slingo will tell you its a 4 card level but only one comes up! I'd be curious to see if this is in all of them or just mine!

4.0 out of 5 stars A good, portable version of Slingo, January 27, 2010
= Fun:4.0 out of 5 stars
This review is from: Slingo Quest (Nintendo DS) (Video Game)
Slingo Quest is a direct port of the PC version, and for the most part holds up very well.

You'll definitely notice that not all the features/sounds appear in this game from the PC port, that's obviously due to the size limitations of the DS cartridge.

If you've never played Slingo, it's essentially Bingo on steroids. You spin 5 reels, with the goal on each board being:

- Completing a set score
- Finding the "secret" key
- Completing the board in a certain time
- Finding all the butterflies
- Covering the entire card

The only way to get a perfect is, obviously, to complete all of them.

Some require very specific strategies if you want to complete all 5 tasks, and it mainly involves paying attention to the "set" items (i.e. multipliers, super jokers, etc). These do not change from game to game on their specific levels/boards.

So, the game breaks down like this:

Graphics: 7/10 Nothing earth shattering here.

Sound: 5/10 Grating would be a good term to use here, as you'll be real tempted to turn off the round music. The actual sound effects are just OK.

Controls: 9/10 No problems with the touch screen in this game.

Replay Value: 7/10 There are various awards you can earn, which are nothing more than personal bragging rights. If you're one of those 100% completion people, it will take some time to get all perfects on all the levels.

Overall, if you like Slingo, or even Bingo, this game is a good distraction for a car trip or a couple hours, and a decent value.

If you said "yes" to the above question then this game is for you. This DS Slingo version is similiar to the PC version, however as we all know the DS version is more portable. This is a great game but like the PC version gets alittle repeative after awhile. Its a great spin to the Bingo game. I really like this game, and enjoy playing it for awhile, (normally around 30 minutes or so) and then I get bored and need to move on to something else for awhile. This game is a great addition to the DS. If you like Slingo I would suggest trying this game, you will definitely like it. Its a great game to pass some time.

There isn't a lot of skill in this mix of slots and bingo...but for some reason it is really good for some mindless entertainment. I don't know why I like it exactly, but I just do.

This game keeps challenging the user. Slingo is like bingo but with a twist. This game has alot of twists and turns whether playing the story line which you build up points to move on to playing individual games. This game is fun if you like bingo. The game has great graphics and lively music. This is a good game. Worth the money .
