Backlogs and ancient Chinese volumes,
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: A Slip of the Tong (Hardcover)
Yes Gloria, this a another fine adventure in the world of scholarly libraries. In A Slip of the Tong, Goodrum takes us into the backlogs of uncatalogued books and the issues involved with book collections obtained from foreign countries during distressing times.
It's a reminder how much has changed in the years since this book was written and how much has not. I only wish plucky and clever Ms. Creighton Jones was a librarian.

Witty, intelligent mysteries? Charles Goodrum!,
This review is from: A Slip of the Tong (Hardcover)
Okay, I just received this book and haven't even read it, but am writing a review. That's because this author, a Library of Congress Librarian, now unfortunately deceased, impressed me so much with his Carnage of the Realm and Dewey Decimated (we library staff named our in-house cookbook Dewey Delicious after it) some years ago, that I would write an ecstatic review of anything he wrote. Contradict me if you can! Now I am going to go read...
