I'm 24 now and have been a huge Slipknot fan when they 1st came out 10 years ago with this cd. This is actually the 4th time i've bought this disk (the 1st two versions one with 'purity", the other with "me inside", and then the digipak version) and this is hands down the one to own, if you don't own a version already. To those wondering if it's worth getting all over again, I will tell you YES! 1st off for me, I had let someone borrow my copy with Purity on it a couple years back and i never got it back from them, so for that song alone, im pretty happy. You also get their entire demo pretty much and the demo version of "wait and bleed" is really cool to listen to with the variation of vocals by the then younger Corey Taylor. The disk is 25 tracks long, with the original only being 14/15 counting "eeyore". Also to let it be known, you don't have to listen to minutes of silence and everyone throwing up before you get to eeyore. It's now a separate track, minus the long intro which is awesome. Now the DVD: (sic)!!! Comes with what felt like an hour long video of behind the scenes and rare concert footage. Look a Corey's hair back in the day, pretty damn funny and i'm sure even he gets a kick out of that. Also Joey Jordison IS the best drummer alive (my educated opinion). Also you get the videos "spit it out", "wait and bleed", and the animated version of wait and bleed. The illest part is the full concert, which i would have paid the whole price for alone. Like i said, it's like im 14 all over again, even though I kept the original release in heavy rotation it's nice to have the whole package. If you're half a Slipknot fan, you're reading this agreeing with me and if not, then you need to get on the wagon. Anyway, ever since I heard Slipknot was re-releasing their self-titled album (for the billionth time), I knew I would get it like any other album I was psyched to get from them. This 10 anniversery re-release album is by far the second most(Sic)est thing any Slipknot fan will want to get their hands on. The first being the Disasterpieces DVD with heart-pounding live footage. This version of Slipknot contains several new bonus tracks, including the long-lost classic "Purity" which was supposed to be on the original release of the self-titled album, but was soon removed due to copyright reasons. However I do agree with the reviewer who stated Frail Limb Nursery should have been on before Purity, but this is a very minor thing. I think Purity is already good enough by itself making an appearance on this album, as it is my favorite 'Knot song. FLN would just be a plus, but even without it, it's still a great chance to get never before released tracks on this CD. Other bonus tracks including Eeyore, Get this, and Snap are garunteed to satisfy any crazed Slipknotic. There are also 2 demos/ alternive versions of "Spit it out" and "Wait and Bleed" and one remix version of (Sic). But that's not all.....

Just when you thought the bonus tracks were enough, you thought it couldn't get any better, huh? Bet not. This thing just gets better and better. The second disc it comes with contains four music videos (some that may be similar to the ones seen on Youtube)with all of the live craziness you would expect from any Slipknot show. It also has a 50 minute video showing what Slipknot does before, during, and after their shows in 1999 & 2000, all containing just the (sic)est stuff you would expect them to do from beginning to end. Even though the live footage you see on this isn't as thrilling as the stuff caught on Disasterpieces, it's still worth watching these guys go crazy just doing their thing. You still get to see some good shots of each member doing lots of crasy s**t. The shots of Joey Jordison doing those drum lines will bound to please any fan of Slipknot, or just Joey alone. Besides, how many re-releases have this kind of stuff? And for the price? The original Slipknot songs + bonus tracks + demos & remixes + live footage + music videos + behind the nine + absolute (sic)ness, did I get everything? It's just worth every penny. With all this stuff combined, I'd say it's worth the extra few dollars you put in. Now remember, just because it's a re-release doesn't necessarily mean you're buying the same exact thing, it means your getting the same exact thing with A LOT of extra stuff with it. And not a lot of re-releases have this kind of stuff. Slipknot has once again pleased me with their work, and I am very happy with this purchase. I would recommend this to any Slipknot fan.

Ahhh, has it really been 10 years? One of Slipknots best albums before they started to go downhill... I just wanna say I am still a fan, but the self titled and iowa was when Slipknot was in their prime. I don't care for their new stuff really but they do have some ok hard tracks. Anyways back to the 10th Anniv. I am sure a lot of people bought this for Purity. Me as well. I do own the original cd with Frail Limb Nursery and Purity. Sadly I only have the case due to someone who has the cd that I could never get it back now. (Long story) which pisses me off. So I figured it be nice to own a copy of it again. Plus we get a bunch of Remixes and B-sides and a DVD. The DVD is great, bunch of cool stuff to see and a whole live concert. You also see Clowns old drum tech who is one of the singers from the band downthesun. What more could you ask for?....oh yeah... how about FRAIL LIMB NURSERY!? What the hell happened? The intro to Purity is just amazing and they leave it out? WHY? The had to remove F.L.N. and Purity due to legal reasons, and now they are able to put Purity back on an album and they just get rid of the intro to the song? I feel like this album is incomplete. Anyone hoping to have the original CD that they were never were able to get will be disappointed. Sure it may not seem like a big deal to some, but to others it is. I like to own a REAL copy of songs.

Pros:
-One of the best albums they released with a bunch of extra tracks
-Has over 20 songs
-Comes with a DVD with about an hour of just randomness which in some parts are funny as hell
-A whole live concert
-Brings you back to when slipknot was real heavy


Cons:
-They didn't put Frail Limb Nursery on the album which should be.
-Most of the Remixes/B-Sides where already released on the Digipack version which you can still buy easily unlike the few that were only on the wait and bleed single which is not as easy to find. So there is really nothing new to this album at all...
-Wish they could of added some older songs like songs from Crowz, or other B-sides, Demos, Remixes that haven't been released from that era.


Overall this is a good re-re-re-release cd of this album if you don't own the other 3 versions of it (which I currently do) The only real reason to buy this album is for the DVD. If you are just getting into Slipknot then I would highly recommend buying this then the other versions of the self titled album.

I've owned the "Slipknot" album a couple times since it was released in 1999. But this version, the "10th Anniversary Edition" is the album that the maggots should cherish. The cd has all the songs on the original plus demos, remixes and b-sides. I wish they would have put the live tracks from the "Spit it Out" single along with it but it's still an amazing release. The DVD shows rare footage from the "Slipknot" years (1999-2000), the craziest footage that has been captured of the band you could ever witness. Also has music videos and the Dynamo 2000 live performance in it's entirety.

This is THE Slipknot album any fan should own. GET THIS!

I've been a Slipknot fan since '99 when I saw them on Ozzfest, and like another reviewer said, this is the fourth time I've purchased this album. There's really nothing here that can't be found elsewhere, other than the Wait and Bleed demo. Purity is back, but the Frail Limb Nursery intro is missing... that's not a big deal to me since I have the original pressing with Frail Limb Nursery/Purity, but I can see how its absence could disappoint fans who weren't fortunate enough to pick that version up before it was discontinued. Sure it's just a 45 second intro, but it's just as much a part of the original release as any other track and it made for a smoother transition between Tattered & Torn and Purity. If the disk's running time was an issue I'm sure they could have easily dedicated one disk to the original release and put the bonus tracks on another. The band had a hand in deciding what tracks went on this special edition and they wanted it to be perfect, there has to be a better excuse than that...

Honestly, the DVD is the real reason to pick this up. It has three vidoes (which were already available on Slipknot - Disasterpieces, definitely a must have for any Slipknot fan), an entire live set recorded at Dynamo Open Air Festival in 2000 that was originally intended for a second home movie, and a ton of randomness from various live shows and offstage footage strung together in a similar (but much more cohesive and enjoyable) fashion to their third DVD release, Voliminal: Inside the Nine. It would have been nice to have had retrospective interviews with a few members of the band discussing how they feel about the album after 10 years and the success it brought them, but considering how busy the band's mouthpieces (Corey, Joey, and Clown) are even when they're not touring, that might have been nearly impossible to arrange.

My favorite part of this 10th anniversary is the dvd. I enjoy of the (sic): Your Nightmare Are Dreams the most, as of today this is my fifth time watching this since I've had it for a week now. I have also listened to the cd several times since too, the extra songs is something I have wanted for a long time, I am glad they are featured in this edition. If you love Slipknot you have to get this. I hope Slipknot makes another album like this in the future, you never know, but i doubt that Slipknot will make an album like this or Iowa again.

Things I don't like about the album: well you see the very cool packaging on display? Well that's cardboard. Not very sturdy cardboard either so it's very easy to damage. And then there was puking. I'm referring to the bonus feature. It begins by showing the most disgusting and drawn out puking session I've ever seen in my life (honestly). But that aside...It's Slipknot!!! This is simply there most unrelenting album ever. The music Slipknot makes lately has been a lot slower and softer. This album includes no such song. It just tears your face off. A lot of the bonus songs are just remixes (interesting remixes though), but what's not a remix is very good, so it warrants paying extra for the special edition. Overall, I'm a happy customer.

I WAS DISSAPOINTED WHEN SLIPKNOT CAME OUT WITH THIS ALBUM BECAUSE I BOUGHT THE SLIPKNOT SELF TITLED DIGI PACK,SLIPKNOT SELF TITLED FEATURING FRAIL LIMB NURSERY RIMES AND PURITY,AND BOUGHT THE SLIPKNOT SELF TITLED REGULAR VERSION BECAUSE I AM A HUGE FAN (AND HAD TO BUY THIS ONE). THE COOL THING IS THAT AT LEAST THIS ONE HAS A DVD THAT IS OKAY AND SHOWS MOSTLY OLD FOOTAGE OF SLIPKNOT AND LIVE CONCERTS, BUT IS GOOD. IT ALSO SHOWS ALL OF SLIPKNOTS OLD MUSIC VIDEOS LIKE:SURFACING,WAIT AND BLEED(LIVE AND ANIMATED),AND SPIT IT OUT. ALSO SHOWS A FULL LIVE CONCERT FEATURING:SURFACING,(SIC),WAIT AND BLEED,PROSTHETICS,PURITY,AND MANY MORE. THE CD DOES HAVE SOME REMIXS AND DOES FEATURE THE DEMOS SNAP AND WAIT AND BLEED. UNLIKE THE OTHER SLIPKNOT SELF TITLED ALBUMS IT HAS VERY DIFFERANT ART WORK IN THE BOOK ABS THE LYRICS OUR KIND OF MORE ORGINIZED OUT, IF YOU WANT TO READ THEM. It's been ten years of complete madness, and Slipknot never seems to dissapoint. When Slipknot decided to re-release their first (and possibly greatest) album, it was like 1999 again. I preordered a copy in less than a minute, waiting for it to arrive. Once again, Slipknot didn't dissapoint.

For all you guys who bought the first album, don't worry; the CD is not just the original with some "Thank you" letter by the band. The CD contains 15 original tracks from the first album (including Purity), the re-released track "Me Inside" when Purity was removed, Get This, both "Spit it Out" remixes ("Stamp You Out" and "Hyper"), (sic) mole injected remix, Wait and Bleed Terry Date mix, and four demos (Wait and Bleed, Snap, Interloper, and Despise). The original album recieves 5 stars on its own, the best songs being Spit it Out, Wait and Bleed, Surfacing, (sic), and Eeyore. The remixes are interesting, seeing what someone else could do with the song, and the demos are awesome while you can see how they sounded like in their younger years. The only problem with the CD is that Frail Limb Nursery is not on the album. This track was removed along with Purity, but while Purity got re-released, Frail Limb Nursery some how never appeared. I don't know why, I thought the 10 year anniversary would include every single song, but the song is only less than a minute, so it's very easy to forget about. All in all, 10/10.

The CD also includes a DVD, which is actually two movies in one, plus four music videos. Of the (Sic) is the first movie, which is a documentary of the band with a commentary by Shawn "Clown" Crahan. The film is very interesting and shows how the band was like back in 1999-2000. I'd give it a 8/10. (Warning: The opening is a one minute scene of a bandmate throwing up. If you have an uneasy stomach, skip through this part). The second movie is a whole entire live show of the band in Dynamo 2000. The show plays 7426, (sic), Eyeless, Wait and Bleed, No Life, Liberate, Purity, Prosthetics, Spit it Out, Get This, and Surfacing. The concert is pretty good (it's no Disasterpieces though), and the band seems to know what they're doing, the crowd seems extremely pumped, and it's definetly a good movie for all of the Maggots out there. I think it disserves a 9/10. Lastly, there are all four music videos: Spit it Out, the original and claymation version of Wait and Bleed, and the ultra rare music video for Surfacing. Spit it Out consists of the band playing the song, while it also contains shots of the band parodying "The Shining". Wait and Bleed's orginal video consists of live footage of the band playing the song, but with a music dub of the Terry Date mix. The claymation Wait and Bleed shows a man creating clay Slipknot figures, but they come to life and attack the man. Surfacing is a live show of the band playing, being similar to Wait and Bleed (it's probably the same show), but instead it actually plays the live song, showing you how it sounds live. The music videos are great and deserve a 10/10. The DVD is an average of 9/10.

To conclude, Slipknot 10 Year Anniversary is a great album and a must have for any Slipknot fan. If yoou just got interested in the band, this is the right CD for you. 10/10
