Sloane Sisters was such a cute book! I've been off the bandwagon when it comes to novels the likes of Gossip Girl, The Clique and books that are known for their catty drama! But I've recently started reading the new GG series and I must admit I am a fan. However, this series is geared more toward the younger set, like GG for your little sister, and I've attempted to read a series similar, The Ashleys... and I couldn't do it. I couldn't even finish the book. So, I was initially skeptical when I first heard about this series.

But I'm happy to report that this novel is beyond readable, it's even enjoyable. It's fun, witty, different and of course full-o-drama!

And the whole spin on the girls becoming sisters, was very different! It definitely made for some interesting drama. I'm looking forward to reading the rest of this series and absolutely recommend it for tweens!

Plus it's pink. Growing up I was never a fan of pink, but now I have a slight obsession. Especially pink covers!

This was a really great tween book. It had just enough drama and girl fights to really make the book good. I did have a problem with keeping the girls straight for some reason. About half way through the book I did finally keep Cate and Stella separated and figure out who they were. But even after finishing the book I am still having a hard time remembering Andie and Lola's characters. I think it is because all of the girls are so much alike. Cate and Stella are the fashion divas and want to be popular. While Andie and Lola are both the outcasts in each side of the family and want to be like their older sister.
Saying that I did think that this book was really good. It starts off with Stella and Lola moving to the US with their mom who is going to marry Cate and Andie's dad. You think they are going to get along at the beginning but then things change and it gets so bad that their parents wedding is called off. Only to have the girls come together for a very emotional and cute ending. This is a great read for any tween or adult.

The Sloane Sisters debut book was great. I found that it was full of family, fashion, love and drama that you hope for in a book about middle school girls. What makes it stand out is the witty writing and down to earth, well developed characters who are lovable even in their cattiest moments. I can not wait for the second book!

This book was, in a word, FUN! I was in a sort of reading slump, not being able to finish but 1 book in the last 2 weeks. I've picked up a lot of books, but nothing has really held my attention. So, last night I went to my TBR pile, and pulled out the first book that caught my eye. Thank God for the Sloane Sisters!

It is a typical, blending of families book, where the children, forced to be siblings, try hard to hate each other. It's life today. Mom and dad get divorced, mom/dad meets someone new, who has kids, and they get married: instant family. Well, these 4 girls are bound and determined not to get along, so they set out to out-do each other with new friends and old. In the end, it's the back-stabbing, cut-throat, sabotage that brings them all together with a purpose. Who knew?

Set in NY, this book combines all things teen: friendship, cliques, style, fashion, fitting-in, feeling left out, designer clothes, texting, you name it. Ms. Carey does a great job of blending all of this together in a fun, realistic story. The characters are so believable; they're girls you'd expect to see in any high school in America. At times, they made me laugh, yet at others, they made me want to go "mom" on them, telling them why they shouldn't treat their friends that way, how much it would hurt later, etc. I fell in love with these girls and couldn't wait to see what they'd do next.

My heart, however, is with Lola. I have a tendency to root for the underdog, and in this book, she definitely is. Lola's not the pretty one, she doesn't have the fashion sense, and she's clumsy. Boy, could I connect with her! I went through high-school that way. Yes, I had friends, but I didn't run with the "in" crowd and neither does Lola. She's learning though, because Andie is helping her, especially in the boy department. Lola is my favorite sister. I'm anxiously awaiting the next book to see what happens to her!

This was a great, quick read! I'm sure tweens/teens will love this series and buzz about each book until the next in the series is released! 4 out of 5 stars for Sloane Sisters.

this book has to be one of the best books i've ever read. it is trult amazing and really helps you with problems that you might actually might face in real life. i think that you should really read this book. you might have some of the problems that the characters face in the book.
i hope you enjoy the book as much as i did.

Upper East Side dad met Stella and Lola's British model of a mom, all the daughter didn't think that this relationship would last. Suddenly their parents announce that they are getting married. Cate, Andie, Stella, and Lola are going to have to be one big happy family. Cate has found a rival in her future stepsister, Stella. Cate like being #1 at Ashton Prep. Can she handle that Stella might be it, with her British accent and closet on swag. Andie want to be a model, but at 4'11", her chances are slim. Will having a model as a step mom help? Lola only has one plan for living in Manhattan. To be her longtime friend, Kyle Lewis' girl friend, but will his eyes for Andie make it impossible
Sloane Sisters was very cute. I have 3 sisters, so I know what it is like in the craziness aspect. This is definitely a Gossip Girl like novel for a younger set and it was really done. It was really humorous, fun, and drama filled. The writing was well done. The charter were pretty well developed. I can't wait to read the rest of the series. I also love the cover. It is adorable.

"Here's a story, of a lovely lady"... Okay, well maybe this isn't really The Brady Bunch. Although a man, Winston Sloane, does meet a woman, Emma Childs, and they do fall in love. Each has two daughters of their own, and in this over-privileged world, thus begins the war to become the Alpha girl.

Meet Cate Sloane, the alpha at home and at school. Cute clothes, cute hair, basically a cute style, there is no reason that she wouldn't be the president of Ashton Prep's "sorority," Chi Beta Phi. Being the alpha is all Cate knows and is the only thing she will accept. So Cate understands that she is going to have to stand her ground once the new girls arrive.

Next is Cate's sister, Andie Sloane. Before, both girls were inseparable, always doing everything together. However, once their mother passed away, Cate began to drift away, leaving Andie by herself. Sure, Andie tries to fit in with her sister and her clique, but this just led to Andie being dubbed "copy-Cate." Her goal in life is to show up her sister and become a top model. It's just fate that her father found Emma, one of the hottest models around.

Stella Childs is like the Cate of her family - stylish, popular, and extremely annoyed with younger sister. Stella just is not able to fathom why her mother would make them all move to New York, forcing her to leave her friends and school behind. Just learning upon arrival that she will be living with Winston's daughter, Stella is already set for battle, and she won't let anyone push her around.

Lola Childs is nothing like her sister. Tall and awkward with bad hair and a viola. Lola definitely does not care; at least she has her cat, Heathy, by her side. All she wants is a sister who won't make fun of her and would at least share some of the same interests.

During the first meeting, Cate and Stella pair off immediately, already impressed by each other's fashion decisions. This leaves Andie with Lola, and Andie definitely does not want to be seen with her. Stella and Cate get off to a great start, but when a slumber party reveals a more alpha side of Stella, Cate just isn't having it.

Just in this first installment, it's already the battle of the alphas, boys, and wardrobes. Winston and Emma have yet to wed. The girls better get it together before the vows are taken... or is that even what they want?

Author Anna Carey takes on another view of the Upper East Side, this time featuring four soon-to-be sisters who do not mind if they trample on one another. Like a mix of THE CLIQUE and GOSSIP GIRL, fans of both will enjoy this new series along with its high maintenance characters.

Get ready for a lot more gossip, a ton of fashion, and a whole bunch of backstabbing.
