Book Description

Tucker Max’s books—I Hope They Serve Beer In Hell, Assholes Finish First, and Hilarity Ensues—are a uniquely engaging trilogy composed of his best, craziest stories. They’ve sold millions of copies to fans all over the world. Their success has meant his success.

As a thank you to those who have loved the stories and supported him for so long, Tucker has gone back through his massive archive of material one last time, culled out what you might call the “best of the rest,” and arranged it here, in Sloppy Seconds, like a book version of Deleted Scenes.

Unlike most deleted scenes, however, these don’t suck. So enjoy.

2.0 out of 5 stars Starts off funny but falls off quickly December 20, 2012
Format:Hardcover
Like other reviewers have already mentioned, this book starts off with some pretty funny bits. The problem is that after the sexting chapter it quickly goes on a journey of nothing. A lot of the stories just seem to be written like you were explaining to a friend over email about a drunk night you had a few weeks ago. The stories start and you think "This is going to be good" but are are left thinking "That's it?" Some details aren't that funny and he relies too much on his own name to carry the story. I know you are Tucker Max but you don't need to remind me about it all of the time. If the story is funny then let it stand on it's own. If it's not all that funny then the story should be left out.

It really is a book that seems to be his "Sloppy Seconds". The stories seem to be incomplete leftovers that were probably edited out of his first books due to lack of humor. Now that he has established his fanbase and generated intrigue this book is more like the midget boxing/wrestling he references in the book. If you read Sloppy Seconds you will get my point.

If this book wasn't so cheap I would have been more disappointed. Since it was relatively inexpensive and did provide a few laughs (at least at the beginning) I am fine with it.

5.0 out of 5 stars Not too many LMFAO's but still great regardless February 12, 2012
Format:Kindle Edition|Amazon Verified Purchase
If you've never heard of Tucker Max, then this is a good introduction to the author and his style (and genre) of writing. As a fan for a few years now, I was slightly disappointed in some of the content of this book. Usually I'm ROTFL with tears in my eyes, and although a few stories did produce that kind of reaction (i.e. the sexting stories), most only produced a polite chuckle. I'm not complaining though, I'll read whatever he puts out there. I'm just glad this one was free. However, to get the full Tucker Max experience you MUST read his other books! Absolutely hilarious!

3.0 out of 5 stars A Classic Example of Gross-out Humor December 26, 2012
Format:Kindle Edition|Amazon Verified Purchase
Tucker Max is a genius. He's taken years of selfish bad decisions and turned them into a money machine. Even if you don't like what he writes, you have to admire that. But here's the thing: The guy is also hilarious. Or, at least, he can be.

Part One of "Sloppy Seconds" consists of three stories - one from each of his three previous books. Part Two is made up of material that didn't make the cut. And Max is quite up front about that. Which I appreciate... because when the first story in Part Two began to offend me, I knew to stop reading.

"Sloppy Seconds" lets you test drive his style, which is somewhere well below "National Lampoon" on the evolutionary scale. I laughed non-stop through the first story in Part One. His behavior was reprehensible... but the story is truly funny. I got a kick out of parts of the third story, too. But the second one was probably the most disgusting piece of gross-out trash I've ever read. On balance, this free sample convinced me I don't want to read anything else he's written.

If you're into extreme gross-out humor, you'll love Tucker Max. Otherwise, my advice is to proceed with caution. He can be funny without being disgusting... but you may not want to wade through the slime to find the gems.

2.0 out of 5 stars Started strong then just ran along
This book could not be more true to the the title. No one wants sloppy seconds. The book started out well, but mid-way through the book it peters off.
