Frank Scoblete's Methods Explored in This Tape,
By Margaret Chasen (New Haven, Conn.) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Slots with Video Poker [VHS] (VHS Tape)
I usually avoid video tapes but when I saw that Frank Scoblete wrote this one I bought it. It was great. In less than an hour I picked up valuable tips on how the machines work and what strategies to employ against them. Definitely worth getting. It is a professional tape.

Not enough information on what I was really looking for.,

This review is from: Slots with Video Poker [VHS] (VHS Tape)
This video gave a great variety of all the basic tips and myths that I'm already familiar with, but info that the novice should indeed get if he or she has never gotten this info on those interent sites that advise this stuff.Still though, for under $..., the serious slots player will find this video barely worth it if he or she already knows all the basic stuff this video teaches. The main reason is because there's a brief moment where this video shows a casino employee opening a slot machine and taking out the 'RNG' Random Number Generator to show you how big it is and how it's located under the reels for your viewing pleasure. Since I already know the video's basic stuff, I was hoping it was gonna get more detailed on the particular machines to play and tell the odds of hitting the jackpot on the most popular machines such as the "Sizzlin' 7s" and "Red, White, and Blue" machines. Other than seeing the RNG for that moment, this video was nothing more than a wealth of information on all the basic and primative tips, principles, and myths on slots. I'm an experienced slots player who already knows that stuff. I want info on the particular machines and the odds for their individual jackpots and statistics from people who tell you how many spins they had to go through to finally hit that jackpot. (Extra info like that which the internet never mentions) Other than that, this video was ok.

This was a BIG joke! It DOESN'T tell you how to win!,

If you're a curious person looking to see if a video on slots really will tell you how to win a jackpot at slot machines, then No. 1 get ready for dissapointment because No. 2, they tell you stuff you already know from reading dozens of articles on the internet about those awful machines. This like any other slots video or book, or article, or any kind of slot system where you have to pay your own money to get it is just an easy way for the those people who sell you these systems to get your money. This video DOESN'T, I repeat, DOESN'T tell you how to win a decent-sized win at slots, let alone telling you how to win a jackpot. If you're looking to satisfy your own curiosity by seeing what this video says about slots anyway, then go right on ahead and buy it and waste your money. If you've recently won a jackpot and you just wanted to buy this just for the hell of it, then good for you; but just remember that this system won't tell you how you did win that jackpot from 2 days ago. I bought this dumb video and wasted $20 of my own money of course, and what did I do, I later on took my anger and frustration out on it by smashing it with my big, handy sledgehammer. The fact that my sledgehammer was extremely useful for helping me total the video and video case included to pieces, I am proud to say that I am extremely satisfied for what I done and that the people who made this video ripped me off. Waste your money if you want, all I can do is give some advice after playing those damn machines for every month for over a year and a half. Good day.

Not much for Video Poker,

This video was pretty good if you want to learn how slots work, but the title was deceiving. I thought it would teach you how to play video poker, and it had very little about video poker.

What a complete WASTE of money!,
By A Customer
This review is from: Slots with Video Poker [VHS] (VHS Tape)
This stupid video doesn't tell you how to win at slots at all! If you're already in the know as far as knowing to always play the maximum number of coins, having common sense to stay away from progressives, then you won't need to buy this junk! All this waste of $20 did was inform me about stuff I already learned after reading enough free articles and information about slots over the internet. They don't tell you how to win. They don't even come close to telling you how to hit a jackpot. Considering I already knew the stuff this video teaches by visiting all those free articles on the internet, I didn't do any better after watching this video than before I watched it. Other than those stupid, obvious general strategies you'd be a moron not to follow that they tell you about, they also tell the myths and facts about slots that they actually don't have any proof that they are facts. Sure, they'll tell you stuff like when a machine's hot, it can stay hot, common sense should tell you that's generally a load of crap. The facts that they mention are really just a load of crap when you use common sense and think about it. Unless you can afford to piss away $20 of just another stupid slot system that won't help you win a jackpot, then go right on ahead and waste your money. I wasted my $20 on this junk and then smashed it to rubble with my sledgehammer; and I'm glad I did it. My advice to anyone who hasn't played slots as long as I have is; use common sense and believe the myths. Afterall, myths were made up for a reason.

It's Mr. James Coburn as remembered !
A look @ the mechanics of the slot machine and how to play. Although the video is older, the technical aspects applies. There are scenes of slots in play, which makes this instructional entertaining. I play the video on the weekend. @ this time of posting,it's Saturday 11.07.09. I will see it today !

Truth, but not wins,
By Nigel Turner (Ontario, Canada) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Slots with Video Poker [VHS] (VHS Tape)
This video gives an accurate account of how slot machines work and dispells a number of myths related to slot machines. It does not tell you how to win, because its just simply impossible to come up with a strategy to beat the odds on a game of chance. But the video provides a lot of excellent information and I highly recommend anyone that thinks they can beat a slot machine to watch this video. ...
