Fun lessons for Children
This is a nice compliment for Slovenly Peter which works for boys. This is the girls version. It gives parents an opportunity to teach children with a little "tongue in cheek".

Where are the illustrations???
My review is specific to the "Affordable & High Quality Paperback Edition" of this book. The Amazon's "Look Inside" option is false and misleading. There are NO illustrations in this edition, which can be compared to reading the Sunday comics without the pictures to go along. If you want to order this delightful book by Heinrich Hoffmann, do not bother ordering this...

Growing up my Dad would change the names of the characters to the names of his four daughters... it was morbid and scary but, boy did it stay

My kids love these little old fashioned stories because they are so un PC and a bit shocking. The story they tell is remembered and leaves the reader/listener wide eyed.

For those of you have read or grew up on the spooky tales of Hoffman's Struwellpeter, this book is a must as the perfect companion. More of the same grim, yet wonderful stories that we have all grown to love!
