Congratulations and Kudos, Mrs. Jackson on this being your 50th novel! PLEASE, keep 'em coming! All I want to know is how can I marry into the Madaris Family?...LOL..."Slow Burn" offers another thrilling rollercoaster ride with the Madaris'.~~~~~~~Mrs. Jackson did an EXCELLENT job with Slade and Skye's romance. I enjoyed the instant attraction between Skye and Slade. The storyline as always flowed effortlessly across the pages. The characters as usual are UNFORGETTABLE. Main and secondary characters will have you LOL at their antics. Slade is definitely a gentleman that knows how to provide satisfaction to HIS woman, not just a physical satisfaction, but he showed Skye he was capable of being there for her emotionally, too. I totally got caught up in all the passion and desire between Slade and Skye it was so intense it just about scorched the pages. I love the way Mrs. Jackson always brings you up to speed with what's happening with the rest of the family and their circle of friends. You also get a secondary romance with Nedwyn Lansing & Diana Madaris (an older couple), which is okay, but I was more interested in the main characters. This is definitely a CLASSIC Brenda Jackson romance! Now, I am anixously awaiting the next Madaris novel!~~~~~~~If you are a TRUE Madaris fan, this is a DEFINITE MUST READ...you will not be disappointed!

Skye Barclay is an only child, and has always felt something was missing in her life. There was no expression of parental love and she was not allowed to have close friends. As an adult Skye's life is still not fulfilling; she is destined to marry a young man who was chosen for her when she was a teenager. But, things changed once she learned she was adopted. Against her parent's wishes Skye is determined to locate her biological mother. Skye learns her mother was killed in a fatal accident, and that she has a teenage brother. Her decision to find her brother brings wrath from her adoptive parents and an ultimatum from her fiancé; she ignores both. Her investigation takes her to the home of Justin Madaris, who adopted her brother ten years ago. It also brings her face to face with Justin's nephew, Slade Madaris.
Slade and his twin brother own a lucrative construction business in Houston; he is in Ennis, Texas visiting Justin. Slade has allowed little time for social networking, and has no time for a serious relationship. But when he meets Skye, the attraction is hypnotic and their responses are priceless. Timing is everything and Skye has an opportunity to spend the summer in Houston with her brother while he works for Slade. When Skye's overzealous ex-fiancé threatens to harm Slade and her brother, the Madaris clan unite forces. SLOW BURN is filled with mild suspense, carefully hidden secrets, and greedy antagonists. Ms. Jackson, in grand Madaris style, revisits all of the Madaris men and their friends. There is also a secondary story that brings a surprising union between two unsuspecting long time friends. Fans of the series will be surprised but delighted by this union, it had me smiling. Reviewed by aNN of The RAWSISTAZ Reviewers

When love calls...
Alright, alright, alright! The Madaris family is back! It's been approximately 2 ½ years since we were last given a glimpse into the lives of our beloved Brenda Jackson family. But with the release of Slow Burn, the story of Slade Madaris, we're reintroduced to the whole clan, including Justin & Lorren, the couple who started it all. Skye Barclay gets the shock of her life when she finds out that not only is she adopted, but that she also has a brother; a brother who turns out to be Vincent Madaris, the adopted son of Justin & Lorren Madaris. Against her family's and her fiancé's wishes, Skye heads to Texas to meet Vincent. She's scared of what will happen once she gets to Texas, and understandably so. But her fears are quickly allayed when the Madaris family opens their homes and their hearts to her. The moment Slade Madaris lays eyes on Skye, he feels an instant inexplicable connection with her. And the fact that Madaris blood runs strong in his veins, Slade pursues Skye, quickly wearing down her defenses and embarking on a beautiful love affair. Their euphoria is short-lived, however, when danger comes calling. Will Skye give into the pressure, or will she stand and fight for her newfound happiness? Slow Burn is classic Brenda Jackson. You know an author has mastered their craft when you can literally feel the emotions portrayed between the characters; whether it be the familial bonds or the romance and passion between the couples. Each novel that Jackson writes is a testament to this fact. I've yet to be disappointed with any of Jackson's literary offerings. I'm a fan for life. - Renee Williams, All the Buzz

"A Hot Love Story",

This review is from: Slow Burn (A Madaris Family Novel) (Mass Market Paperback)
What a way to kick off Brenda Jackson's 50th book. This novel was really good alittle corny and sappy at times but a good read. It was also great to read about the other Madaris family members and friends from previous novels. Skye Barclay and Slade Madaris are good chemistry, and the storyline was interesting with the exception of two little mistakes I came across; on the back of the book it says that Skye wants to track down her biological brother with the support of her adoptive parents but in the book she gets no support, and also in the book Skye is an accountant but read the back of the book she's an attorney. I guess it really makes no difference..just a faux pas. The pairing of Nedwyn Lansing and Diana Madaris was truly delightful, what an elegant couple. Ms. Jackson you're awesome continue to do what you do.

Slow Burn (the 50th novel)for Ms. Jackson was simply superb! Another Madaris man bites the dust - but does it in that awesome "Madaris" way. This romance was more than worth the wait - how does Ms. J keep doing it? Thanks again for another great romantic-suspense!

I could not put this book down. I read this book in 5 hours today. Ms. Jackson did not disappoint me. It was great catching up with all of the Madris's and their close friends. Slade and Skye had chemistry like most of the main characters in Ms. Jackson's books. If you have not read any of Ms. Jackson's books on the Madris family, please go back and read them.

I have always enjoy Mrs. Jackson's books, and it was great revisiting the Madaris Family and to read how the Family has grown. Also the love that is felt in the book is all other. It took me a day and half to read the story, and can 't until the next Madaris's Story to come out.

Slow Burn by Brenda Jackson turned out to be a good book, although it started slow. I haven't read any of Ms. Jackson's other works so I was unfamiliar with the Madaris Family. This family is just too good to be true. Every man has a great husband who dotes on her every need.
Adoptee Skye Barclay finds her biological brother Vincent who was adopted by one of the Madaris brothers. She also finds Vincent's cousin Slade. If you can get past all of the kissing Skye and Slade do, it turns out to be a great read with some mystery and suspense. I wanted to read the book because I am an adoptee, but I'm glad I bought the book on this website's today's deals section!
