5.0 out of 5 stars I love Gooseberry Patch books
First, let me say that I am a HUGE Gooseberry Patch fan. Currently I own six of their books: Slow Cooker Recipes, Best-Ever Casseroles, What's for Dinner?, Come on Over, One-Pot Meals and From Grandma's Kitchen. I just LOVE the books. The recipes are very easy, not too fancy, don't take long and always taste good. They are easy to read and the spiral binding keeps the...

3.0 out of 5 stars Not my favorite but definitely a regular
I noticed several recipes were almost bland, these ones in particular did not call for great flavor agents like onions and garlic or herbs but instead relied on salt from Cream of ______ for seasoning. Not a huge complaint, the extra ingredients are easily added but because of this, of all the Goose Berry cookbooks this isn't my favorite. In fact several recipes sounded...

They are easy to read and the spiral binding keeps the books open flat. I think out of all of the books, I have only made one thing that I didn't care for. They are just great, great books to have around and I love the little tips on each page, the way that every book is broken up by meats and categories and just all of the other little helpful charts and equivalents that are in each book. In my opinion, they are just great additions to any cookbook collection and I love having them in my kitchen.

For this book, Slow Cooker Recipes, I have only made one recipe so far since it is a fairly new purchase for me, and it was Spanish rice. I am making my second today from it, Saucy Potatoes and Ham, and it just really has a lot of basic recipes for the slow cooker. Don't get me wrong, I have a lot of fancy slow cooker books as well, but sometimes you just want to throw the food in and go and have a nice hot comforting meal at the end of the day and not have to create a sauce, braise the meat, etc, etc, etc.

I would definitely recommend this book to anyone looking for a nice, well-rounded slow cooker book to add to their collection.

Not a huge complaint, the extra ingredients are easily added but because of this, of all the Goose Berry cookbooks this isn't my favorite. In fact several recipes sounded as though they could have been ripped off the label of a Cambpells soup can. I recommend buying this book used to save a little money.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great Slow Cooker Cookkbook, January 15, 2011

The Gooseberry Slow Cooker Cookbook exceeded my expectations. I thought it may have been a slow cooker cook book with hard to find, expensive ingredients, but it is not. It is a wonderful every day cookbook with delicious recipes that are simple to make, tasty, and are economical. I love this cookbok, and I like that the recipies are submitted by woman who have submitted their favorite recipies for everyday dishes. This is a great cookbook to have in your collection if you are single and cooking for yourself, or if you have a family. This will definately be one of my favorite cookbooks. I would recommend this cookbook to anybody who is budget minded, and wants to prepare delicious everyday dishes in their kitchen. This would also be an ideal cookbook for recipes when you have company, because they are tasty recipes, but are made with ingredients that one would use everyday, so you do not have to worry about your company not enjoying their meal because some odd ingredient is needed. I definately give it 5 stars.

I've never purchased any of the Gooseberry Patch cookbooks before. I love this cookbook. They are all "down to earth" recipes that my family will actually eat! :-) Thanks!

I was not a big fan of slow cookers but asked for this cookbook for Christmas at a recommendation from a friend. There have not been any recipes I tried in this cookbook that we didn't like as a family..now I use my slow cooker at least once a week! The Goosebery Patch cookbooks are all terrific.

Can one ever have too many cookbooks? Nope...not when they have the homespun flavor of Gooseberry Patch added to them. I collect these cookbooks and enjoy their recipes as well....another addiction...and my husband really enjoys this one, cause he gets to eat the rewards!

Try this one...it is a time saver...and gives a savory meal to boot!

This is a really great cookbook. It's full of easy to make and tasty recipes. Like that it uses ingredients I am most likely to already have in the house. Gave it as a gift and the person liked it so well they bought one and gave it as a gift also.

Again, I loved the Super Saver Shipping option. My items got here just as soon as they would have if I had paid for standard shipping. I have made a few recipes out of this one already and they are great. They have allowed me to have dinner on the table at a reasonable time and more time to spend with my family with less clean up afterwards. Totally love this book!
