I love this book! Rachel Ryan starts off with a list of over 40 different superfoods that can provide a ton of vitamins and minerals and health benefits and that I know I should be including into my diet. I found this list SO helpful as it not only lists the foods but then explains why they are exceptionally beneficial to eat.

Then the book dives right into the recipes. Each recipe is clearly written and easy to follow. After each recipe, the nutritional information is listed. One of the first recipes I tried was the Spicy Avocado Soup which was just amazing. I really appreciate that the recipes are not ones that I have tried before. In addition to soup recipes there are also chicken recipes, turkey, beef and lamb, lasagna, seafood and so much more. The fact that all of the dishes are made in a slow cooker is definitely a bonus! The pictures that accompany the recipes are amazing too.

All in all, this is a really good recipe book. Excellent recipes and excellent information about superfoods. I highly recommend!

This book (I have it in the Kindle format) includes some good nutrition information about more than 40 superfoods and spices. While there are some excellent-sounding recipes, many of which are quite unique (such as "Sweet Potato Cauliflower Soup" and "Cajun-Style Gumbo"), not all recipes include only superfood ingredients. There are several recipes calling for substantial amounts of sugar and refined grains, but as someone who tries to avoid these, I can either skip those recipes or make substitutions. I'm happy that I have found some "keeper" recipes!

Includes a list of Superfoods with information of each.
Includes a list of Superspices with information of each also.

A big plus for me is the nutrition is included with the recipes! I do wish the serving size would be included with each recipe such as "1 cup" so I do not have to figure out how to divide the dish up. With my diet restrictions I need this in all cookbooks! I cannot use some recipes that call for sugars or white flour. If you can use this then use them and have a bite for me!

I do wish it had included the size of the crock pot/slow cooker for each recipe.

I have found several recipes to use! This is saying something with the diet limits I have now! I am definitely going to keep using the "Spicy Avocado Soup"!
