"Slow Down" seems an especially apt title for jazz vocalist Michelle Walker's new recording. In fact, given the CD's seductive charms and frequently relaxing pulse, "Slow Down" is more than a title, it's an invitation that's hard to resist.

This CD is a example of what made jazz so inviting, popular and great to listen to in the first place. The sounds of this artist will move you in the deepest way. It will lift your sprits and/or relax you --depending on the song and your mood. The cuts are familiar yet the twist of style makes them new again. Just can't say enough about it....Look out diana Krall.......

I certainly made it to the sunny side of the street when I chanced to hear Michelle Walker this past weekend. What a wonderful voice she has, equally at home interpreting classic favorites and contemporary numbers. And let's not forget the wonderful players she has backing her up -- the bass and guitar work are wonderful, as is the pianist. I got her CD on the spot, one for myself and one to give to a friend.

Do yourself a favor, and get this CD. We have a wonderful "new" jazz artist to treasure!

Slow Down, is one of the best new titles out featuring a female jazz vocalist. With some of the most familiar jazz standard tunes to the original title track, Michelle Walker's Slow Down is taking the jazz world by storm. Watch out for this new talent...she is smooth, classic, and has a sound that is truly her own. Her sultry voice can stand next to any of the greatest voices we've heard in a long time. Her voice is enchanting, I met her in NY this year and heard her sing live in front of an audience. She is very graceful, sensual, and last but not least professional. The CD is in no way disappointing compared to her live concert.
Her performance brings a freshness to the scene of many female jazz singers. She has her own wide-range repertoire and is an independent-minded yet very focused performer.
I think we will hear more of her in the press and musical reviews in the near future.

Michelle Walker is a name quickly becoming familiar to all true jazz fans. Her CD Slow Down is an exciting selection of great classics that simply put a smile on your face. Michelle's rich, passionate sound adds such a feeling of warmth that you find yourself hanging on to every note. Every cut on Slow Down is excellent but when Michelle Walker sings Nature Boy, Nat King Cole would be proud! Set your CD player on repeat because you'll find yourself hooked from the start.

This CD is very good. Never knew that I liked jazz, but I do love Michelle Walker. She has a great voice. A sexy voice. Her rendition of 'My Song' outdoes the original. Sorry, Elton. The best song on the CD, by any measure, is the song penned by Walker herself. The song has beautiful words and the music fits it perfectly, and helps make the song even better.

This is an excellent debut CD. The title track, "Slow Down," also written by Michelle Walker, is my personal favorite on the CD. Ms. Walker's voice and her interpretation of the other songs she performs on the CD make it a great listen.

Michelle Walker's cd, Slow Down, is sensual, spicy, soultry, with a a twist of sexiness. Slow Down, written by Michelle Walker, is the jazziest upbeat tune that gets you jumping to its beating drums. The cd not only has great jazz hits, but also other venues that are represented very well.
