5.0 out of 5 stars If you've forgotten what it feels like to be calm...
...this CD will help you rediscover it. I have long been a fan of "ambient" music as a tool for stress relief and this album is easily one of the finest for that purpose. This is more than music, this is medicine for hearts and minds worn thin by daily life. It is the perfect background for massage, yoga, or any soul-restoring practice. The long, slow chords...

1.0 out of 5 stars early immature work
Big fan of Liquid Mind. In comparison to his later works, like Balance and Unity, this cd is not so good. The composer is finding his style which matures in leaps and bounds in his later cd's. In fact, a quantum leap. "Slow World" is a worthy first effort of an artist who is finding his way. I wouldn't recommend this cd at all unless you're a rabid fan. However,...

This is more than music, this is medicine for hearts and minds worn thin by daily life. It is the perfect background for massage, yoga, or any soul-restoring practice. The long, slow chords evoke images of space or of vast undersea panoramas, calling to both the body and mind to slow down, calm down, and be at peace.

5.0 out of 5 stars Endless Afterglow, March 26, 2001

I have a huge collection of electronic and New Age music that I've been gathering for more than 25 years. My Top Twenty list in this category must now make room for "Slow World." Stunning and unique among "ambient" music, never before has something this minimalist left me so transported and relaxed, not restless. I find most new age "relaxation" music to be boring, amateurish, or pretensious. "Slow World" is elegantly and deceptively simple, with a sureness that adds to the sense of safety listening to it creates. Excellent massage music; guaranteed sleep-inducer (if that's what you want). Now, if you'll excuse me, I have to go buy the rest of Liquid Mind's albums.

I have a TON of new age music that I have purchased over the years for my work. If your involved with the relaxation arts, you need this CD--AMAZING! Caution--DO NOT PLAY THIS CD WHILE DRIVING,OPERATING HEAVY EQUIPMENT OR TAKING SHORT NAPS(you won't be able to get out of bed!) Highly Recommended, after several years, still one of my favorites.

5.0 out of 5 stars One of my favorite albums to unwind to., June 2, 2003

I've had this album for several years now. Even though I have hundreds of ambient/new age/synth albums, Slow World is still my favorite to de-stress to. It is slow, melodic, and flowing. There are now six albums by Liquid Mind/Chuck Wilde, but this is by far the best. This is highly recomended for those who need relaxing music after a hectic stressfull day. The recording quality is reasonably good too, for this type of music.

5.0 out of 5 stars Wonderful Relaxation, March 22, 2004

I bought a copy of this for a friend, and then myself. We both use it regularly to fall asleep to. It's so long and so nonsequential that you can just let go and relax, not following the beat or wondering how much of the music is left (which I find myself doing if I try to relax to music).

I highly, highly recommend it.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great -- as usual!, May 15, 2008
This review is from: Slow World (Audio CD)
All these titles are great.. you really can't find a klinker in the bunch!
Just add this one to the list, these are much longer selections however so if you don't like a certain track -- then 1 third of the cd is not usefull to you, but I think you will like all of them!
- Jim

Ps.. The Serenity CD is my fave.. so far!

5.0 out of 5 stars heavenly music, April 8, 2009

This CD has some of the most beautiful music I have ever heard. It is what I would imagine heaven sounds like. Not only that, but it is so relaxing as well. I play it when I meditate and I achieve much deeper states than without it. It is amazing how the sloooooow and beat-free music brings your nervous system into synchrony even without you doing anything. This was the first Liquid Mind CD that I ever listened to. I now have Liquid Mind IV Unity. I like it as well, but out of the two I like Slow World better because it is, well....slower! The only thing that I wish is that it was all one long selection instead of two shorter and one longer one. If you can only buy one ambient music CD, this is the one!

5.0 out of 5 stars Slow World by Liquid Mind, May 12, 2007
This review is from: Slow World (Audio CD)
This is an excellent music CD for deep relaxation, massage, acupuncture treatments, yoga, meditation, or getting the baby to sleep. It maintains a consistent "zoney" quality from beginning to end with no tempo change, no surprises. The instrument is a synthesized keyboard and the chord progressions take long gradual steps up and down. That's it.
