These guys have totally refined their sound into the very best melodic punk rock available. I have had this CD for 2 years and I still consider it one of my best music purchases. From the moment Under Lock And Key blasted from my speakers I was hooked. MxPx is just awesome. If you compare this CD and Blink 182's newest album...it's not even close very few of Blink's new songs are even listenable. Slowly Going The Way Of The Buffalo has 16 tracks and 15 of them are awesome(I don't care much for Fist VS Tact, but thats not really how MxPx plays so it doesn't bother me). If you want to pick up one of the best punk albums I highly suggest you purchase this.

Mxpx has always been a fav. of mine alongside NoFx .. This band is very creative in what they do and live they are also great from what ive been told .. p.s : ignore teenieboppers and their ''this aint punk etc.'' and ignore those wannabe posers who were never born in the 70's but pretend to be .. the true poser is the one pretending to be from another generation , truely pathetic ..

From the opening blast of "Under Lock and Key" to the final riff of the Theme Fiasco, MxPx delivers the best melodic punk rock I've heard. The songs are so catchy and meaningful you cant even help it but to fall in love. No, you do not have to be a Christian to enjoy MxPx, especially with this album. Some say that "Fist v. Tact" isnt a good song, personally I think it rocks, they're just mad cause they cant figure out the words. Anyway this is a must buy or burn or whatever you like just get it, NOW!

here's the way to go - if you already think the band is killer, or if you are into punk music with less clean cut voices and more sketchy voices, or if you have a thing for good guitars, vocals and lyrics, then buy this cd. not true punk, close... but not - no matter what anyone wants to say. songs sound the same on the first run thru the disc, but thats the same with every cd. maybe if you've never heard this type of music before it will all blend, otherwise there are good variations. if you still aren't sold on it - it's just a catchy sound... bass guitar, electric guitar, drums, and a calm yelling from herrara for the vocals... pretty sick.

This CD is not really awesome, but it doesn't suck too bad either. It's really nothing special. I got this CD because I heard everyone saying it was wonderful, the best CD ever, etc., but that's just not what it was. I found myself able to listen to this CD, it's not like one of those CDs where you're thinking "Oh my gosh, this is awful, I can't listen to it!" I didn't turn this CD off, but the thing is that I just can't get into the songs. They all sound the same and MxPx sounds a lot like many other bands. I like the kind of CD that jumps out at you, that leaves you no choice but to listen to it again, and again, and again, and to just leave it in your CD player. This CD wasn't like that. I heard this was a good Christian band, but it doesn't even sound that way. If you're looking for a GREAT christian CD that is actually different and sounds really awesome, I'd recommend Dogwood's "Building a Better Me" or Relient K "Anatomy of the Tongue in Cheek."

Introduced me to punk. Can't complain.,

The Bremerton Trio introduced me, and got me addicted, to punk rock. Where would I be without them? At the tender age of 13 I bought this the first month it came out and listened to it about 3 times a day. I literally could not get the songs out of my head. The bottom line is, this stuff is catchy, loud, and fun. What more could a teenager ask for? Nothing complex, just good music to rock out to. I still spin it every once in a while for the nostalgic affect it has on me. MxPx has been a staple in the pop-punk scene for quite a while and this is probably my 2nd favorite on their long list of albums.

MxPx at its best!,

While there are many different opinions as to which MxPx album is the best, I think that this one really shows the true talent these guys have for Punk (with a nice taste of pop). While my dad says that the lyrics to "I'm Ok, You're Ok" and "The Downfall of Western Civilization" are meaningless, I am of the opinion that they are the best tracks on the album. And other people may call "Fist vs. Tact" a song that doesn't on the album, but it gives it a nice little spark that makes this cd that much more interesting to listen to.The opening to "Set The Record Straight" is so awesome, you have to listen to it, along with "The Theme Fiasco", which is sort of "Mission Impossible" style Punk. This album is far better than their previous cd, "Life in General", which had a lot of annoying riffs and plain, uninteresting drumming in many of the songs. I consider this album the "comeback" from "Life in General" :-) . All in all this cd is a must buy for any secular or Christian punk rock fan out there, particularly fans of Green Day and The Ataris.

An example to punk bands everywhere,
This review is from: Slowly Going the Way of Buffalo (Audio CD)
Slowly going the way of the buffalo is easily MxPx's best CD. Infinitly more deveoped and mature than their previous Teenage Politics, their amazing mix of fast rock guitar, punk riffs, and fun lyrics never gets old. Every song, with possibly two exceptions are of single quality, and this CD never gets old. I bought it when if first came out a few years ago, and it's still in my top ten. If you're looking for blink, go get everypassing moment, but if you want a great CD, something a little more original BUY THIS CD.

I've met the fellas from MxPx and have spoken with them for a bit about this whole thing about people thinking they are a christian band. I am getting sick and tired of people calling these guys a christian band. Yes, they are christians but they aren't a christian band. Creed sings about God more than MxPx does and people don't label them christian music as much as people do MxPx. Just listen to this album for the love of the music. They have positive music that isn't about drugs and sex. What's so wrong with that? They are probably the most mature punk band out there. This is probably the best emo style music I've heard in a long time.

SGTWOTB is without question the best album mxpx has made. there is not one song that is unlistenable, i have had this album for over a year and i still play it constantly- personal favorites are whats mine is yours and under lock and key. This album seems better put together, then "the ever passing moment", which seems very artifical. the lyrics are deep , and very relatable, and if your a guitar player that can play the basic barre-chords you'll have a feast playing it yourself, same thing goes for bass players.
