You can't trust the experience at the store. People do all manner of adjustments while playing with these things. Maybe you can look up how to do a hard reset and then go in and try it. I'm not sure the store people would like you doing so, but since most of them will ignore you anyway, what can it hurt? A hard reset won't destroy any data, it will just unscramble the messed up "brains" inside. Also, your Internet experience may be hampered by the store WiFi.
