Ordered both the high slumberjack and the big chair, I preferred the big chair shorter one, and my husband (who is not at all overweight) preferred the high one. If you are really short, the shorter one seems best, and it is not difficult to get out of. too bad they didn't make one a little in between!!!!

This chair is a good, sturdy folding chair capable of supporting a large person. The only thing missing is a drink holder, other than that, this is a winner.

The chair is great and very sturdy. I am a big guy with a wide butt and I fit in the chair with ease. I take it where ever I go. I also have lower back pain and it does not bother me to sit in the chair at all. you will like it.

I had purchased a similar Slumberjack Big Chair a few years ago from a well known sporting goods company. When I saw this one at Amazon - at a cheaper price - I just had to buy it.

This is a very comfortable and sturdy chair. There are larger people in my family and I don't have to worry about this chair collapsing under them. It also folds flat and is lightweight which makes it easier to take along on outings.

This is the best camp chair I have ever owned and I am thrilled with the great price.

I have purchased both this chair and the ALPS Mountaineering Camp Chair. Rather than write two reviews I have attached my review for the ALPS chair below. Unless you are very wide in the seat I would strongly suggest getting the ALPS chair over the Slumberjack. It's much more comfortable.

99% of the people out there will find the ALPS chair far more comfortable. Chair is rock solid, fit & finish is great. Back uprights pop out and fold into the chair to reduce size a big plus over the Slumberjack. The back is also sloped back much better feel than the Slumberjack, the upper edge of the back tends to cut into my back on the Slumberjack and it's straight back was bothersome after the first 45miin of sitting.

Arm rests are very comfortable although I'm sure the foam padding will have to be taped over with cloth tape at some point as it will undoubtedly end up cut up with trips in and out of the car. The round tube of the Slumberjack (also padded) does not even compare - I found them unusable. The ALPS chair with the wave arm rests seems to pull your elbows into the perfect position. Chair also has a hanging cup holder, not the best and would not work with open glasses but still better than nothing as with the Slumberjack.

The Slumberjack does have a couple advantages in regards to size. It's seat height is a couple inches taller, and the seat is also wider and deeper since the back canvas is separate from the seat (one piece contoured padded canvas in the ALPS chair).

All that said, I am 6'5" tall and weigh 250lbs and would much prefer sitting through 4 hours of soccer in the ALPS chair over anything I've ever sat in before.

Having had 2 knee replacements and having short legs, its very hard to find a chair that is easy to get out of without needing anyone to help me.I am 5' 4" and my height must not be in my legs! This is the first chair that i can say i can actually get out VERY easily needing NO help at all. most other chairs hurt the back of my leg,as i cant touch the ground,well not this one ! This is the perfect chair if your someone thats short on the legs.Also being overweight i was always worried the chairs i was sitting in would not support me, not this chair.Its made sturdy and when you sit in it you feel safe!

I am a bigger guy and this chair is perfect for me. I've brought it to my son's soccer games. It is light, easy to setup and take down, easy to clean, sturdy, and comfortable. It is much more comfortable than the collapsible chairs I used to bring.

It folds flat so it is easy to store in the back of my car.

It'd be perfect if they added a cupholder. :)

I'm a big guy and this chair has the room to make me comfortable. Seems very sturdy too.

Great quality. What I most appreciate is the level/stability of the seat, and the ease with which you can get up from sitting position.

I've had this chair for a few years. Tried others, but this one is best. Lightweight for transporting. Very sturdy and comfortable. The two I just purchased were for friends who fell in love with mine. We all have either back, hip or knee issues. The arms are very supportive for getting up and out of the chair. I keep it in the back of the van so it is always with me. I paid more on another site. My friends got a great deal!
