Peter Ostroushko's "Sluz Duz Music" occupies a special place in my heart - until this was released on CD, it was one of 10 records that kept me from tossing out my phonograph turntable.

I don't care how bad or hectic my day has been - if I put this album on, by the time I get to the end of the 3rd track (Marjorie's Waltz), I've pretty much put my cares behind. That's what good music is all about.

The sound is so rich and complex, you can't even count the instruments and identify them. The resulting sound is an amazing acoustical string instrument of instruments.

Peter Ostroushko says "Sluz Duz" is his Americanization of a Ukranian phrase his mother would say that meant "gone over the edge" or "off his rocker" and he uses it here to describe his music. Well, I wish more music were over the edge! I love his sound, I love his melodies, I love his little comments about the songs on the insert. I put this CD in any time I need a little lift and this music makes me happy. It's the kind of music that will make you dance while you're dusting. It's all instrumental with no distracting words. The songs vary between lively and soothing, and it's a journey I enjoy every time.
