"After reading about the "Floating Blacks" issues and seeing them first hand, I decided to give this Entry-Level Samsung a try. Great picture, 1080p performance with Blu-Ray Discs and good performance elsewhere, this turning out to be a great TV for the price.
"I've been using this player since 2005. Nice picture and nice sound for the money. I have been using it with a 2000 Panasonic "CT-27SF37" Direct-View Set (TOL 27" Set Of That Year) with excellent results. I see no reason to expect anything less when the new plasma arrives.
Price: $700.00 (In 2005).
P.S.: The Denon may eventually be replaced by a Blu-Ray Player in the next year or two."
"I've seen this game system at a close friend's house recently. And as true to her word, this thing is addictive (for lack of a better word). I never knew getting and staying fit would be SO addictive. This thing could put health clubs out of business.
"I actually own this thing right now, and let me tell you, it's "the bomb". I mean.... this thing has enormous storage capacity (I have the 160 GB version) and the sound quality is incredible. Has video capability too. But make sure you ditch the earbuds that come with this thing and use some better phones with it. You'll see why I love this thing so much then.
"I own an Apple iPod, and I want to make my iPod a part of my home theater system as well. It's going to serve as the music source of my home theater system. Called the "Bridge III", it comes with the Harman/Kardon AVR-3600 Audio/Video Receiver at no extra cost (see below)."
"This is THE ONE to own. What's not to like.... There's HDMI Connectivity.... a Faroudja DCDi Processor that upconverts to 1080p.... 85 "High-Current" Watts Per Channel.... the latest codecs.... and a Bridge III Dock for my iPod.... Oh, did I mention that even the OSD is in high definition???
All-In-All, a "VERY" tasty package if I don't say so myself.
"From what I have read about this speaker, this seems to be a more effective surround sound bar speaker system than the Polk SurroundBar. If that turns out to be true, I may end up picking this one over the Polk version.
"I have a small bedroom, and I don't want to be confined to listening to headphones all the time (I live in an upstairs apartment above someone else), and I don't want to have speakers scattered all over my bedroom either. This seems to be the most logical solution.
5.1 Channel Capability in One Box (just add a Subwoofer).
Price: $900.00 to about $1,100.00 (depending on size)."
"Here it is..... The "FINAL" piece of my "Home Theater System" puzzle. This piece will take over where the "SurroundBar" leaves off, and provides the low frequency foundation which makes Home Theater so enjoyable in the first place.
"I am using these now.... These "cans" are quite good. They provide a natural sounding top-end, a clear and neutral midrange with a deep, tight and well defined bass response. And comfortable to wear for long movie and listening sessions too.
And the cord can be easily replaced also. What more can you ask for..... for $300.00???
"This pair of Speaker Cables will connect the "left" and "right" channels of the Polk Audio "SurroundBar" to the Harman/Kardon AVR-3600 Audio/Video Receiver. Another pair will connect the rear channels of the "SurroundBar".
This is "supposedly" their "entry-level" audiophile cable.
"I cannot believe that "Amazon.com" doesn't stock this item (or at least, not yet). I just saw this item at my local Circuit City earlier this evening. This one seems to be ideal for my application. And at $300.00, the price is right too. I will be adding two of these to my system.
"I want to add a Universal Remote to my system as well, and unlike my previous Home Theater (which has different remotes for different components), I would like to add more of a "one-stop" solution to my next system, and this one may be it.
"This is the Shelf/TV Mount Stand I am going to use with my new system. It will hold everything that's included in my new system. Looks elegant too. I only wish the shelves were adjustable. Well, can't have everything, can you???
"To get the most from your display (be it Front Projection or a Flat Panel TV (LCD, LCD/LED or Plasma)) and to make your home theater experience much more enjoyable, your display needs a calibration. And if you don't care to hire a professional to do it for you, this is the NEXT BEST alternative.
"For a "Calibration Disc" (plus software to use with your "X-Rite" Monitor Calibrator), this is what I recommend. It more so meets the current State-Of-The-Art more so than the other Calibration Discs that are out there.
