By A Customer
This review is from: Small Business Legal Smarts (Paperback)
Without a doubt, the best book on this topic I have ever read. The ultimate self-help book for anyone running or thinking of starting a small business. In plain language the author carefully takes you through the legal minefields that any small busiess owner must contend with. The organization of the book is great. The writing is very lively. She answers all those legal questions you agonize over when you are thinking of starting a small business or already have one up and running. I wish I had this book when I first started my business, I would have saved myself a lot of time and money. But better late than never.Buy it.

This review is from: Small Business Legal Smarts (Paperback)
In Small Business Legal Smarts, small-business owner, attorney and legal columnist Deborah L. Jacobs, J.D. advises the novice entrepreneur and small business owner regarding new alternatives to incorporation; how to cope with regulations, record-keeping and tax laws; protect trademarks, patents, copyrights, and trade secrets; do business on the Internet; interpret sexual harassment law; discharge employees; avoid claims by employees, partners, customers, and competitors; collect bills and debts; utilize alternative dispute resolution resources; and get the most out of lawyers and the legal system. Small Business Legal Smarts is strongly recommended reading for anyone contemplating or participating in a business of their own.
