This tin plated copper braid is suitable for use in ground wire applications. This flat braided copper wire is annealed for improved ductility and meets the QQ-W-343 specification for uninsulated wire. This copper braid is suitable for use in wiring applications where no insulation is needed and in ground wire applications.
Electrical wire carries an electric current or grounds an electrical device. The amount of current a wire can carry is proportional to its size (gauge), and the wire is generally sheathed with coatings and coverings to insulate and protect it from moisture, chemicals, heat, and abrasion. Copper is the primary material for electrical wire, but alloys are sometimes used to increase its strength or its resistance to chemicals and the environment. Wire can be composed of a single strand or of many smaller strands, depending on its use, and is typically annealed to improve its ductility. Electrical wire is commonly used in industrial, electronic, and automotive applications.

This is just one layer of tinned braid. I felt more comfortable doubling the end of the braid and soldering it at the end to be pierced and placed over the grounding posts. One could also just solder the "frayed" end after cutting the braid to length I suppose.

The Copper Braid I received under this part number was NOT tinned. Bare copper wire braid. It will work just the same in my application, but it is not what was advertised.Published 5 months ago by K. Boericke
It's electrically conductive and easy to use. There's not much more you can ask from braid, other than that it also be cheap.Published 11 months ago by Jonathan
