4.0 out of 5 stars A good option at bathtime for kids with ear tubes
We bought this product to protect our son's ears during bathtime. He is two and has eartubes and our doctor recommended not allowing bath water into ears. This can make shampooing challenging. We use this product in combination with the silicone ear plugs (kind of like clear play dough) to keep them in place and seal his ears from soapy bathwater. My only complaint is...

3.0 out of 5 stars Same as Swim Cap
I got this for my 18mo who had tubes put in for ear infections and takes swim class. It works well with putty first in the ears, but I ended up putting a swim cap over both as well. Now we just end up putting the swim cap on and not even using the band-it. Gave it 3 stars because it is ok and works but a swim cap works better for my purpose.

My only complaint is that it can sometime be difficult to get the right fit and comfort with the velcro strap. We recommend getting the band wet before fitting to head, because like a wetsuit, water causes the neoprene to stretch out. Often it will stretch enough that it can slip down over child's eyes which, in our son's case, causes some panic and can also cause his silicone earplugs to fall out. Despite some difficulties in getting it on our son while not causing the plugs to be dislodged or velcro to scratch him, we like that, once in place, it provides good protection and we can shampoo and rinse without anxiety of getting water into his ears. Know the band is sized and has the velcro to allow for many different shaped and sized heads and to grow with your child, but we would prefer if it were sized as it is currently but instead of the velcro it had a stretchy elastic band at the back, like may women's headbands, for ease of placement. Perhaps placement will get easier as he gets older. Overall though, we think this is the best solution to bathtime for a child with eartubes.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great for Ear Tubes, August 20, 2010
This review is from: Small Blue EAR BAND-ITŪ Physician Developed Swimming Headband (Misc.)
My one year old daughter has tubes in her ears. We tried to bathe her with cotton (dipped in vaseline) in her ears but she would pull them out or sometimes they would fall out. The same thing happened with ear plugs. However the Ear Band-it works great along with the ear plugs. She can't pull the ear plugs out, they don't fall out, and water doesn't get into her ears. At first she would cry with the Ear Band-it on, but after a week or so she got used to it. Now she lets me put in her ear plugs and put on the Ear Band-it and doesn't fuss. We took her swimming with the Ear Band-it and didn't have any problems with all of the splashing in the pool.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great idea, October 15, 2010

This product is a great idea. My now 15 month old son has tubes and I tried using these on him. He wasnt a happy camper with it though. The product is great quality and it fits my son great and it has room to grow. But my son hate stuff on his head, around his head etc. He doesnt like hats either.

So the few times we used it in the pool, he didnt mind it coz he was distracted with the water and other kids but as soon as he realizes he yanks it out. So we used the silicon ear plugs.

Note to moms: if your some has similar attributes/likes and dislikes like my son this product wont work.

I am holding on to it because every month is different with a kid. He may not mind it next month.

5.0 out of 5 stars excellent product for active babies, March 4, 2010

We got this headband about 2 months ago and have been very happy with the experience. With the earplugs, this headband works perfectly to prevent water from getting into ears. My daughter is 6 month old now. She is a very active baby. Before we got this headband, bathing her was so challenging since she moved a lot and my husband had to use his hands to cover her ears so that water wouldn't wet her ears. Now with the headband and earplugs, we can enjoy her bathing time as much as she does :)

5.0 out of 5 stars Ear Bandit Rocks, October 4, 2009

This is an awesome product that helped my son with tubes in his ears feel confident enough to swim all summer long. He could dive and play well. You have to wear them with ear plugs but the ear bandit helps keep them in place. If you have an active child who doesn't like to interrupt play for anything, this is the way to go!!

5.0 out of 5 stars Works well, February 8, 2012
A Kid's Review
This review is from: Small Blue EAR BAND-ITŪ Physician Developed Swimming Headband (Misc.)
I got this for my 2 year old son to use when he went swimming. He didn't spend too much time under water, but the time he spent splashing around they worked well. It did not slip too often, but it did a couple of times. The fit was perfect, I haven't found any other product that I could use to keep his ears covered, so we were very happy to find this.

My son won't let me put this on him and he can easily take it off the rare times I succeed in getting it in him....he had tube surgery and the doc recommended these....they are really well built and I will purchase when he's old enough to know not to take them off (he is a year now)

My 2 year old took to the water this summer like it was his job! He put on his floaties and would hop in and swim all over the pool, it was amazing! Then we found out in mid summer he would be getting tubes put in. So we ordered this band, and the silcone plugs, from the advice of our ENT and he was back in the pool in no time! I wish I would have ordered the medium size because I know the small wont fit next year, it barely fit this year!

This helped sooooo much. My son is 3 years old and already had 2 sets of tubes. All the ear plugs did not fit and constantly fell out leading to ear infections and numerous trips to the doctors. until now ............ we invested in a different type of ear wax ear plugs and used this head band to keep them in place
and it did just that. So far so good.

4.0 out of 5 stars Not sure how necessary it is..., August 25, 2011

We bought this along with the Putty Buddies ear plugs. The ear plugs stayed in without the band and we had a hard time getting our 20 month old to keep the ear band on. At 20 months he is not diving into the pool so that probably helps the ear plugs stay in place too, but do not know if we will be using this much before he outgrows it. We got the small which worked well for his age (normal head size too).
