This book is available as a google ebook and I've read a few passages that way that relate to my work. They were well-written, interesting, and apparently well-researched. I have no complaints about the content of the book.Despite my love of ebooks, I like to have paper copies of technical books and this one looked worth having. This book is not available for Kindle and the print book costs $200-$300 on amazon or B&N. Huh? I'm used to paying $50 for technical books and I understand that standards may be supported by their print publication and could cost much more. What is the justification for the price in this case? It seems excessive. At least google provides the free ebook for those that want to get at the content. And just for more fun, if you go to the book's web site and click "buy the book" it takes you to an amazon-based storefront that no longer offers the book! Despite all of that you should probably read the book. |
