This book does have what you could call "classic" designs. That's why the title refers to "vintage charm." So it includes log cabin, courthouse steps, flying geese designs and others. What I found interesting is the play with color, size, and the subtle alteration of these classic designs that make a quilt more visually interesting. This quiltmaker's experience shows and her tips are to the point and spot on. She offers useful ideas for how to display your quilts which isn't found everywhere. However, if you want something radically "different" you may want to explore titles that refer to "art quilts" although I see a great deal of delicate artistry in this little book. Highly recommended for the nostalgic.

I just received this book and what a disappointment. Both front & back covers show quilts in bright, clear colors. But inside the book itself, all photos of the quilts throughout the project pages are very poor; they are very dark, nothing like the cover photos. When you "Look inside this book" on Amazon, the photos on the inside of the book are not available for viewing. If they had been, I would not have purchased this book. The paper used inside the book also is sub-standard, not the quality at all of what I am used to finding in a quilt book. The publisher is C&T Publishing but the book itself was printed in China. Is nothing made in the USA anymore??????

Nice book, pretty pictures, but nothing new that I haven't already tried.

The problem is you can't see the book to know if the contents are something you want.

Small or miniatures quilts have fascinated me. I love making them. Jo MOrton's book is terrific is every way! Recommend it to all.
