About the Author

Camille was born in Ashtabula, Ohio. At an early age, she became enthralled with dance. She graduated from Mercyhurst College, in Erie, PA., earning a degree in Dance and minor in Anthropology. She moved to NYC where she studied and performed with The Martha Graham Dance Company and worked as a pottery analyst for The American Museum of Natural History. Shifting her focus from dance to acting, Camille performed with The Shakespeare Theater in Washington DC, before making the coastal leap to Los Angeles, CA, where she presently resides, and is a professional actress. Her most recent film, "There Will Be ____," premiered at The International Film Festival in Rotterdam and The New York Film Festival in NYC in 2013. An animal lover at heart, Camille is currently producing a film project to raise awareness for the endangered African Elephant. She is the Contributing Correspondent to the web radio show, Animal Magnetism, and she volunteers for The California Wildlife Center and MuchLove Animal Rescue. When not working, she usually can be found blazing trails, on horseback.

I love this book!

Camille Licate has given us a thoughtful gem of practical advice, easy-to-apply instruction, and fresh perspective for moving through life with effortless ease.

If you're confronting change or are in the process of letting go of whatever it is that no longer nourishes your heart and soul, read this book. It is full of wisdom and insights.

I see "Small Shoes" as a charming reference book, a book I can visit over and over again, especially if I need a little guidance or inspiration. Read it if you know you need to make a change. Read it if you're ready for some authentic power. Read it if you need a gentle reminder about what really matters. And then be sure to gift it to someone you love.

In the original Grimm Brothers telling of 'Cinderella,' as the Prince's groomsman arrives looking for the owner of a golden slipper, one of the step-sisters is advised by her mother: 'If she slipper doesn't fit, cut off your heel, so your foot will go in." She does, but the groomsman sees blood on the young lady's stocking and discovers the deception. Then the mother tells her other daughter, 'If the slipper doesn't fit, cut off your toes.'

This is the Grimm version, not the Disney version. It's all pretty bloody.

In Small Shoes, Camille Licate gives us excellent advice on how to move on when relationships no longer fit. I wish I had had the book earlier in my life, but, alas, was fated to learn about these things the hard way, breaking hearts (mainly my own) along the way.

I am in my '60s, a man, a writer. As the author of a relationship book ('Older Man Younger Man: A Love Story'), I deeply appreciate the work that has gone into this one. And Small Shoes is not only sound advice from a perky new voice, it's wisdom that can be used.

Small Shoes is a great read. Sage advice for all ages. I love the "Gentle Reminders" at the end of each chapter, it gives the reader time to reflect.
The analogy to "shoes" is clever and "spot on." Why do we keep wearing shoes that
no longer fit? Time to try a new pair, find a new path and welcome change.
Note: Small Shoes will become a "reference" book for life. I will refer to it
as changes pop up in my life and I need a dose of encouragement.

I am a high school teacher and feel this book would be a fantastic gift to a graduating senior for continuing on her/his path of self-discovery. It is an easy read with the author's stories peppered throughout in a playful fashion.
