Wow. Here is a study in contrasts. I happened upon Small Sins opening for Scissor Sisters in Atlanta recently and was totally blown away by the bands energy and the crowds positive reaction. Small Sins came across as an amped up New Order and their live set was charged and vibrant. I got the cd and wouldn't recognize it as the same band but love it just the same -- could be titled Small Sins Unplugged. The cd is GREAT lo'fi with plenty of melody and texture -- check out the single "Stay". A reallly great band that deserves a wide audience.

5.0 out of 5 stars Small Sins is Hugely Impressive, October 26, 2005
This review is from: Small Sins (Audio CD)
I saw the Ladies and Gentlemen at a Matthew Good concert. They are a synth, simple drum beat, and melody based indie band. The music is reminiscent of The Postal Service but perhaps even more melodic. Amazing album! i highly reccomend this band to anybody who enjoys music. "Stay" "Small Sins/Big Within" "We Won't Last the Winter" are my favorite tracks.

i got a copy of this cd from a friend and it reminds me a lot of sparklehorse and grandaddy. the vocals are soft with minimalist acoustic guitars on some tracks ontop of a solid electronica base.

i'm not sure about the postal service reference except for the fact that it's got a synth and a drum machine. it would deff go well on a mix tape with the postal service.
