The soundtrack for Small Soldiers was able to perfectly fit with the movie. The themes were simple yet effective and the "When Johnny Comes Marching Home" renditions added a good touch to the action with the Commandos. My only complaint is that it is too short. It's only 30 minutes and length, leaving a great length of music unreleased. The track names were sometimes confusing. Aside from these minor flaws, the soundtrack is still a great buy.

The score for Small Soldiers is superb! Tracks 1, 3,4, and 9 are amazing! Bold military marches sets the mood for this also enjoyable film. But on flaw remains. The release for this score was done none other than score stingy Varese Sarabande. There is a good amount of score left out on this CD. Such as company mougle Gil Mars theme, which I rather enjoyed, is missing in the release. Of course Sarabande is known for 30 minute releases. I.E. Air Force One, Deep Blue Sea and Dante's Peak. Which contained huge amounts of good score left out by penny-pinching Varese Sarabande.

Hopefully in the future, a not-so-stingy record company will release extended versions of this and other scores released by Sarabande.

A very good soundtrack, but too short. A great inspiring collaboration (Dante-Goldsmith)! All music of Joe Dante's movies are very good! Track #1 is the best in this CD.

I brought thid cd used at a used cd store because for some reason the picture on the cover caught my eye. I didn't expect much of any music for a generally action/cartoony-kiddy type movie. I was wrong. Goldsmith's "Assembly Line" is surprisingly powerful while the tracks at the end of this (way too short) cd are strong and inspiring. Just a great cd!

I hate these damn music union rules that keep most of Goldsmith's albums down to a measley 30 mins. SMALL SOLDIERS sure is teriffic, especially in the triumphant last two tracks, but wouldn't it be even better if we had an additional fifteen minutes to build up attachments to the various themes? Okay, aside from this complaining (and there isn't much I can do about it) this is a fun Goldsmith work, revisiting both the musical styles of PATTON/MACARTHUR/ TWILIGHT'S LAST GLEAMING and the his wonderfully schizophrenic work on Dante's GREMILINS. The Military style meets the adorable suburban style. Get this through your skull, James Horner -- GOLDSMITH STILL RULES!

This is a great CD from Jerry Goldsmith. The first song, "Assembly Line", is GREAT! So is "Roll Call". If you are a fan of Jerry Goldsmith, you will not be dissapointed with this score. Even if you are not, and listen to this score, you soon will be a fan of Jerry Goldsmith. I think this is a definite buy!

It's good to hear that Jerry Goldsmith still hasn't lost his touch when it comes to film scoring. Small Soldiers harkens back to many of Goldsmith's earlier scores, with thick orchestration and very humorous use of "When Johnny Comes Marching Home." A good addition for lovers of cinematic scoring

When I was in the theater the only thing I could think about was leaving and getting the soundtrack.

Bloody fantasic music by Goldsmith.

Bloody poo release by 'Varese Sarabande'

If you watch the film you hear that there is so, oh so much music missed out on the CD. If I were me I would buy it, which I have done, them write to that company displayed above and demand an extended adition.
