The Definitive Ghost Hunter's Handbook,
By Don Lightbody (Brookside, Nova Scotia Canada) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Small Town Ghosts (Paperback)
There are books which detail ghost-hunting techniques and eauipment, there are books which explain the theories behind the existance of ghosts, and there are books which detail actual hauntings, investigations and results. Rarely are these three aspects of paranormal investigations combined into one source, but this is exactly what "Small Town Ghosts" does - and very effectively at that. Whether you are an active paranormal investigator or someone with an interest in the various aspects of ghostly phenomena, this is the book for you. With this book, long-time paranormal investigator Barb Huyser has produced what in this reviewer's humble opinion is THE definitive ghost hunter's handbook. Beginning with theories and speculation, the author guides the reader through the types of ghostly encounters, research techniques and equipment, how weather can be a factor as well as cemetery and haunted house investigations. Each section includes one or more relevant investigative case files, usually also accompanied by photos taken at the time to document the paranormal activity experienced. All in all, this book is a "must have" for anyone with an interest in the paranormal. This reviewer has over thirty years experience in the paranormal investigative field, and I can honestly say that if I were limited to just one book on the subject, "Small Town Ghosts" would be the book!
