Book Description

Miller’s Grove’s most eligible bachelor, Josh Owens, could have a different date every night of the week, so he doesn’t understand why he’s drawn to Tara since she’s obviously not interested in him. Tara Sullivan is angry that he’s stolen the coveted prime-time anchor position she’d been promised.

A stranger begins preying on the single young women in Miller’s Grove, and the story’s assigned to Tara. As the number of victims grows, Tara reluctantly accepts help from Josh. As he researches his top suspect in the assaults, he unearths events in the past that more than one resident of Miller’s Grove wants to keep hidden.

Together they discover a web of conspiracy and lies involving the most powerful family in town. Josh and Tara put their reputations at risk in the hope of exposing the truth and, perhaps, finally bringing Tara peace.

Editorial Reviews

Review

"Intrigue, suspense, adventure and romance all make SMALL TOWN SECRETS a solid fast-paced read." - Erin Richards, author of Wicked Paradise
"Gray has a gift for suspense, and I will definitely be looking for her next installment." - Micah Persell, author of Of Eternal Life
"Sometimes you can judge a book by its cover, and in the case of "Small Town Secrets," that's a good thing! Just like the beautiful cover, this story interweaves the magic of falling with the dark mysteries that lurk in a sleepy southern town." - Lisa Weseman, author of The Name of the Game

5.0 out of 5 stars Secrets hide, even from ourselves. August 25, 2012
Format:Kindle Edition
Loved the imagery from the start. Ms. Gray brings us into Tara's world, just as it's falling apart, and gives us a hero we can cheer for, even though Tara's not so sure. The banter and play between the two convinces the reader that no storm, or job, or problem will be too big, eventually, to stop a happy ever after for this couple. Kept me reading page after page. Looking forward to this author's next release.

5.0 out of 5 stars Loved it August 14, 2012
Format:Kindle Edition
I loved this book! Once I picked it up, I couldn't put it down. The villain was a man I loved to hate, and his foil in every way, the book's hero, Josh, was a man I easily fell in love with. Readers often love a wounded hero, but Small Town Secrets' wounded heroine stole my heart. I was rooting for Tara from page one, and when she got her happily ever after, I cheered. Gray has a gift for suspense, and I will definitely be looking for her next installment.

5.0 out of 5 stars Small Town Secrets August 24, 2012
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
I thoroughly enjoyed this book. I was drawn into it immediately by Tara's desperate need to fly out of Florida before a dangerous hurricane hits. I felt I was right there in line of the storm with Tara. Very descriptive writing, Ms. Gray! When Josh offers to help Tara vacate the area, I knew he was a great guy, even if he did manage to snag her possible promotion at the TV station. When a serial rapist targets her small town, Tara and Josh team together to do a little investigative reporting and cover the story. But soon they discover the small town has many dirty secrets. Even Tara has one. What will happen when those secrets are revealed?
This book has everything a woman would want in a romantic suspense novel and I highly recommend it. If I had to say something negative, it would be that the ending came too quickly. I'm looking foward to reading more by Molly Kate Gray.

2.0 out of 5 stars Should've been free May 14, 2013
By Renee B
Format:Kindle Edition
The best thing this book had going for it was the length. At least I only wasted a couple of hours on it. It actually didn't start out bad, but then it was almost like entire chapters were missing because the time line just jumped ahead. The best part.....the progression of the romance......was basically glossed over like an after thought. And the ending? So much potential lost. It was like, "Wait, where's the ending?" Lastly, almost $4? For <200 pages? Pathetic.

1.0 out of 5 stars Terrible End March 25, 2013
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
Predictable and boring. So boring, in fact, the author seemingly tired of the story as well and ended it abruptly without finishing the tale. POSSIBLE SPOILER.......What was the fate of the hometown hero and his father? Was justice served? We will undoubtedly never know. If this is typical of this author's work, I won't be reading any more by Ms. Gray.

2.0 out of 5 stars Too fast and predictable January 24, 2013
By Jordan
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
There was little to no effort spent on setting up each scene, and the events were completely predictable. Everything happened way too fast, and the ending was terrible; it just dropped off in the middle of a scene with no real wrap-up. I'm glad I didn't pay full price for this one.

2.0 out of 5 stars Predictable Been There Done That January 19, 2013
By Peppyo
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
After reading the reviews I selected this book and was looking forward to a good read. However I was quite disappointed. The plot was predictable and under-developed and was lacking. The characters needed more refinement and definition. Quite a boring read.

4.0 out of 5 stars Very entertaining November 13, 2012
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
From the very beginning where a storm is scaring Tara until the very end where a much more human (and thus more scary) threat is about to destroy everything in her life this story kept me glued to its pages.

The way Tara and Josh's relationship develops when they learn more about each other is set well against this background of a small town with the people that come with small town life. And having the people that report about the happenings of the town actually become the news is a nice twist.

This is a very well written romance novel with enough suspense and tension to keep it entertaining. It is a real page turner, and the only negative thing is that the ending is and came quite abruptly and that there were not more pages left to turn.

5.0 out of 5 stars Suspenseful! Very Good
The story was suspenseful, exciting and kept you guessing. It did not give you the standard ending where the good always triumphs but gave a little twist at the end. Very Good.
