Kendall Van Allen hasn't seen Gabe in the seven years since he cause the car wreck that killed her husband. Now he's in town and staying at her Bed and Breakfast. And rekindling "uncle" status with her girls. And rekindling something in Kendall's heart.
Gabe carries a boatload of guilt over the death of his best friend. When he is called back for a dedication of the new Carter Van Allen football stadium, he can't stay away from Kendall, Carter's lovely widow. Gabe has every reason to deny the slow burn that fans into an inferno of feeling at the mere sight of her. Even so, he isn't so sure he wants to snuff out the flame of... love? Author Margaret Watson is known for her sweet--but not sappy--hometown romances. Readers will care about the characters and their futures, as well as peripheral characters that populate Kendall and Gabe's lives.
