It's colorful with lights and lots of sounds.
msagassi
It works just like a car, has a key, goes into drive, neutral and backup, has a moving screen (windshield)with a car that will go forward and backward with the change.
Rowan's Nana
It should have a volume control because sometimes it gets very loud.

Purchased this toy for a 17-month-old boy. He enjoys playing with all of the features - the horn beeps and the gear shift moves (and the engine revs accordingly for drive or neutral - it even beeps for reverse) - the blinkers work from a stick attached to the steering column just like a real car. The buttons on the bottom make the proper siren noises of the vehicles they represent. You turn it on by turning the key. You can adjust the rear view mirror. The little car moves along the street in the picture window. (Incidentally, the nurse is the only little person that the car can run over. :)) The music the pretend radio plays is nice and the sound effects on the telephone are cute - neither are at all annoying. I would complain only about two things with this toy - first, that it is a bit loud - and there is no volume control (contrast - the telephone is a little too quiet) - and once you put the gear shift in forward drive, you can't turn off the windshield wipers. I would have found that to be a cool feature. We play with this toy very often, but not for long periods of time, as the little guy says it's too loud after a little while. I think it's still better than the competitor products and I would probably buy it again anyway. I just really wish you could turn down the volume a bit.

It is a cool concept, very entertaining for the baby, but IT WON'T SHUT UP. On most of these dashboard toys, the baby turns the key, and an engine noise goes for a few seconds. On this one, the engine noise goes on indefinitely, and by engine noise, I mean ridiculously loud grinding noise that sounds more like a blender than a car. Also, there is no way to turn the volume down. Fun fun fun. It is tolerable if you cover the speaker with duct tape to muffle the volume. Oh, and the cell phone that comes with it has the exact opposite problem. You can barely hear it.

I wanted to get my 15 month old son a steering wheel toy since he had been so fascinated by them. While this toy is loaded- it has turn signals, different songs on the radio, windshield wipers, different horn sounds, car alarms, side view mirror, etc., etc., it is quite annoying. I wished I had been forewarned that there isn't a volume or on/off button. So beware parents! What we've had to resort to doing is hiding it until it's a more appropriate time of day to hear the car alarm being pushed continuously for 5 minutes straight. Kids on the other hand will love this toy. Lots of sounds and buttons to push.

I bought this toy for my 2 year old son, he is now 4 and still loves playing with it. Not only that, every child we have over between the ages of 1 and 5, both girls and boys loves this toy. Younger kids like pushing all the buttons, older kids like pretending to drive to far off destinations and everyone seems to love the little red cell phone. The toy is loud and my biggest complaint is that if a child wanders off without turning it off the engine keeps running forever. I often have to remind my son to "go park your car." But if you can put up with the noise this is a great toy.

My 1 yr old grandson really liked it, but it broke after normal use after a few weeks. Like another customer here, it doesn't "drive" anymore and started making odd sounds. SInce it's after 30 days Amazon won't do anything and Small World Toys says they dont send any replacements. I would not purchase any Small World Toys in the future. I have not seen such bad customer service before.

This is a great toy with lots of bells and whistles to keep a little one busy. Our only complaint or criticism is that you cannot turn the key sound down or off and it is too distracting to have going in the car while Mom is driving. Our little guy loves to turn the key on and let it run. The continuous noise is distracting and will quickly get on your nerves. So, although we bought it for the purpose of keeping him busy in the car (where he always want to "drive") he can only play with it at home, which he still enjoys.

Bought this for my 19-month old who is currently obsessed with "driving." He's now been playing with it for 2 months and still loves it.

It's colorful with lights and lots of sounds. The wiper still works, despite my toddler trying to hold it still while it moves back and forth. He loves the mirror (that's movable). The cell phone completely detaches, so it could go missing if your little one likes hiding things. My ONLY complaint is there isn't a way to turn the toy off or control the volume (we ended up putting a few layers of masking tape over the speaker to lower the volume).

This is a really neat toy for any kiddo who loves to drive. I searched and didn't find anything that came close to offering all the features this one had. Highly recommend!

The idea is fun, and initially I liked that the car sound stayed on the whole time, but it started driving me nuts soon. It would stay on once the kids stopped playing with it, and left it somewhere. We let the kids have it in the car.... Very annoying. The sound was very loud, so loud that we put 3 layers of duct tape on it and it is still loud. The phone that comes with it is so quiet though. We have had it for about 9 months now. The screen that rolls by as the kid "drives" broke after about 6 months, the windshield wiper even sooner, the lights (except the red one) broke too. The sounds are still working though. I've tried to throw it away, but the kids (18 months and 3 years) love it.
