5.0 out of 5 stars According to my husband - it works great!
I bought this steamer for my husband because he had been hinting at wanting one... He always complained about how irons were slow and inefficient and how a steam press would be faster... He's pretty particular about whether he likes "gadgets" or not, and he really likes this steamer... He said it takes just a few tries to get the hang of how to place the shirts or pants...

I bought this steamer for my boyfriend for Christmas since a 'dry-cleaner' type steam press was on his list. He tried it and was very disapointed. I researched quite a number of steamers like it and this one had the biggest surface area and had some good customer reviews but it didn't live up to them. The area was still too small and could only steam about the width of a sleeve. I was disapointed that we had to return it but it really wasn't up to par. I would not recommend this product.

5.0 out of 5 stars According to my husband - it works great!, July 21, 2010

I bought this steamer for my husband because he had been hinting at wanting one... He always complained about how irons were slow and inefficient and how a steam press would be faster... He's pretty particular about whether he likes "gadgets" or not, and he really likes this steamer... He said it takes just a few tries to get the hang of how to place the shirts or pants on the press... You need to do them in sections, just as you would an iron, but with a much larger area covered in one shot... I looked at larger, and therefore more expensive, surface area steamers, but upon closer review, learned they don't steam all the way to their edge anyway... This steamer works great... My hubby really likes the end result and says it steams powerfully. It seems really easy to use... He unpacked it and was steaming shirts in minutes... It has timer and heat options and emergency shut off if you leave it on... I was looking for an economical alternative to more pricey steamers, so I was concerned about the quality, but my fears were completely alleviated! I would definitely recommend this steamer.

5.0 out of 5 stars good steamer, June 6, 2007
i read a lot of reviews and finally decided to buy it. and i don't know how i ever got along without it. i used to dry clean my uniforms so i could get those killer creases. since i got new cotton uniforms i couldn't starch them so i decided on this steamer and it cut my ironing time by at least half. and i actually look foward to ironing. i don't know how it is with women's clothing but if you're a guy you gotta have it.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great Steamer, May 26, 2011

The first steamer I owned was when I was in the military, I was pressing a uniform for CQ duty, it was a funny story, my platoon sgt told me have my uniform pressed and boots shined etc... My stuff at the time was pressed and shined, but he said "even more". I preceded that night to press my uniform, using the whole can of starch, Yes it was ridiculous in the morning, cardboard stiff, but that second hand press bit the dust. well anyways, this press is just as good. These presses aren't miracle machines, you have to figure out the different angles to get to press, press both sides, hand smooth the clothing before as you go... after a while the speed will come. Don't expect to just throw you pants in between the press and have a hocus pocus moment. Dont press down until your ready to press. My civilian clothes are always sharp now, great product.

5.0 out of 5 stars Steam Press that I LOVE, December 16, 2008
This review is from: Smartek ST-X500 Steam Press (Kitchen)
I simply love my Stream Press machine, talking about having your very own dry cleaner in the convenience of your own home. When I think of all the money I save by doing all my own clothes (jeans, shirts, ties and even curtains) as oppose to throwing money to my local dry cleaner. Than the time that I save by using the Stream Press as oppose to the old fashion iron and ironing board. Stream Press pays for itself the very first time you use it. Toss out your old fashion iron and ironing board and save money too.

3.0 out of 5 stars Workes but...., November 7, 2011

Well I Read the reviews so i bought this with a bit of trepidation.

As cool as this is IT WILL NOT REPLACE YOUR IRON. I saw another review that said this but I got it anyway figuring that perhaps my needs are different. If you are only using this for pants or table cloths it might be ok but for shirts and other items with angels this doesn't work that well.

We got it put it straight to work on a pair of pants...GREAT job. For a shirt it does the big open areas fine for the shoulders and sleeves it is a bit hard to align everything up properly so that there are no creases.

I would not say this is a time saver...perhaps for large straight single sided cloth. Even with pants if the bottom side has a little crease in it that you don't see it when you press it you will have a heck of a time getting the crease out

It worked well for 4 months and now the steam feature has stopped working. I will be contacting the company to see if I can get a refund.

I can't be more pleased with my Steam-X Steam Press. I have used it mainly for my art projects and it has cut down the time it took me to press my projects by 75%. It heats quickly, alerts you when pressing is complete, and I think the surface area is great compared to the other steam presses I considered. It is perfect for applying fusible interfacing in sewing applications also.

5.0 out of 5 stars Best Press Ever !, December 16, 2008
This review is from: Smartek ST-X500 Steam Press (Kitchen)
Not only has this press cut down my ironing time, I catch my husband ironing with it. The press is small enough to keep in our laundry room, I press our shorts, slacks, my child's school skorts and even my cotton robe. The steam is a very good burst or you can just spray from the bottle that is included. If you are thinking of buying this steam press do it today!

5.0 out of 5 stars Steam Press that creates magic!!!!!, October 19, 2007
I purchased the Smartek ST-X500 Steam Press recently. The Smartek has been everything that I was looking for in a steam press. .

Forget hauling out the ironing board, distilled water in the iron. Plug in the steam press and you are ready to go---that simple. You need not empty the water reservoir when finished!, Things go a lot faster. a snap. Steams well. It has lots of different heat settings. After I bought this product, most of my family either wants one or has bought one recently. Thumbs up! You won't be sorry with this one.

This is at least twice as fast as the iron. I now press things, which I had given up long ago. I cannot say that pressing clothes is my favorite sport; however this has made it a lot more tolerable! The steam press is made of great quality. Works wonderful. I highly recommend it for everyone!!!! Thank You Amazon!!
