This product was well packaged and arrived intact. It also works, although being solar it does not have the flow of a fountain powered by electricity. In strong sunlight it is more than sufficiently active, but of course, if the sunlight dims or it becomes cloudy, the activity either diminishes or stops altogether.

I have bought two of these, and during the 5-10 days I've owned them (two separate orders) there have been no issues.

ADDENDUM: I'm now on my second summer season with these two (identical) fountains I purchased. I've run them with softened water as my house has a whole house softener and the hose bibs outside have their takeoffs after the municipal water goes through the softener. Therefore, I've not had any issues with hard water but I think that if you used hard water in them, they would function poorly after a little while. One of the fountain pumps died after about a month, and after some "negotiation" with customer service of the manufacturer, they agreed to send me a new one (although they did everything possible to try to convince me it was all my fault, beforehand). The water flows in this fountain only when the sun is directly overhead, which I believe is due to the fact that the solar panel is parallel to the ground. This means that even if it is a clear sky day, and the sun is going to set at 8pm, the fountain will stop running at 6pm or even before then. The basin is painted with some sort of black paint that tends to come off eventually and leaves the basin full of black paint flecks that clog the intake filter of the pump making it not run at all until you clean it, which may be necessary on a daily basis, if not only for the paint, then for the paint and other stuff floating in the air that finds its way into the fountain water.

With these reservations I continue to recommend these fountains, although I'd give them 2.5 stars rather than the 4 stars I gave originally (however Amazon won't let you change your star rating when you amend a review). Recommended, but with significant reservations.

I'm very happy with the smart solar 2 tier fountain. It was so easy to assemble and works great! Of course, I couldn't place it in the garden where I originally wanted due to lack of sun, but, it was still worth it. Still waiting for the birds to flock to it. I have a sneaking suspicion that the lower tier is too deep so the birds will not really bathe in it. Also the upper tier does not really hold any water, it just flows right down to the lower tier. So, I don't know if I'll ever get to see birds using it, but it looks great, it works and does have that nice flowing water sound...when the sun is out...

This is a great little fountain that my birds just love. It works well, it's light-weight, and it's easy to clean. I also like the black finish, because the fountain always looks nice, even when it's a little dirty. I've had fountains with lighter-colored finishes before, and I had to constantly scour them because they showed every little piece of dirt and grime. (And if you have birds coming to your fountain, it will always be dirty.) I've had other solar powered fountains, and this one works much better than any of the others I've owned. When it receives direct sunlight, which is about five hours a day in our yard, it runs beautifully. When the sun isn't directly hitting the solar panel, it runs a little less exuberantly, but it still sounds lovely. I would definitely recommend this product.
