True Kelley has illustrated many children's books, including Hazel Nutt, Mad Scientist, winner of the Golden Duck Award for the best children's science-fiction illustrated book of the year, written by David Elliott. I bought the Renoir and the Van Gogh books for my 7 year old/2nd grade daughter. They studied these artists in art class and I thought this would help cement the information in her brain. She told me she really enjoyed them. The books are visually dynamic and written well. I am happy with my purchase.

This little book is simple to read and has many important facts, as well as examples of Renoir's art. It is appealing to readers that are young and have an interest in art. I like the format of thinking of questions the reader would like to ask the artist.
