I bought this before starting my new job because I knew I would be carrying around an ID badge everywhere. I was a little skeptical because it looked so much thicker than other lanyards I had seen but it is perfect! Very soft around the neck and never gets dirty (I've been wearing it everyday for 3 months now). I also love that you push the button to release tension on the badge so if someone is looking it it, it can still dangle (unlike those auto-retractable ones). My work did end up giving us some free lanyards but this was of superior quality.


Update***november 5th it finally died. The black material that covered the nylon string came apart leaving it exposed. It lasted just over 1 and 1/2 years.

I was disappointed when I realized the reel doesn't automatically retract. It 'clicks' as you pull the reel out, then you have to push a little button (not visible in the picture) to get the badge holder to retract.

Cheap. Comfortable. Has a spool so you don't have to bend down to use your keys. Prefect for anyone that has to carry around a badge or a key. (I removed the badge-holder on one and gave it to a child to use for their house-key - so even a child can use this thing and not break it).

I wanted to use this lanyard for several keys on a ring, and it's simply too flimsy for more than one key. While attractive, it's totally impractical for my needs. Will keep it for a spare mailbox key.

I was disappointed to find this laniard could not hold my 2 IDs. Government IDs, and any other RFID that need to be in special shielding, just way down the laniard too much. The reel mechanism simply allows gravity to pull down the IDs whenever you make a sudden movement or the laniard gets shaken even a small amount. The string on the reel mechanism is also very thin - very liable to break. I was hoping for a stronger, thicker reel line, and a mechanism that needed more than the force of gravity to pull it out of its loop.

I could find these in the lots of 100, but not 1 or 2 at a time.

This product's most important feature is that it stays extended until the button is pushed--thus it is perfect for use in computer card readers.

I had to have one of these for work, when i got it i didnt like the plastic "Smart reel" so i removed that part.
It is wide, and comfortable.
Works great.

After seeing the bad lanyards my work provided to me I decided to purchase this item. After receiving it yesterday I was able to wear it all day today at work. Whatta waste. The first thing I did when I came home was had my boyfriend cut the reel holder off with his bolt cutters. Then I reattached the lanyard to my badge using the keyring included with the set (thankfully included that is).
I love the lanyard itself. It is thick, comfy & hangs well around the neck. What I despised about this was the reel holder. I put a pen in my badge (one pen!) and all day the reel would slowly drop down. To retract it you have to press a button on the back of the holder. Only problem with mine was it wouldn't retract automatically when holding down said button. I had to help scroll the line back in. That happened all day.
Now that he's cut that awful contraption off the lanyard I am finding I love it. It makes for a pricey lanyard, but that's okay. They could do away with the reel part & just produce a great lanyard.

high quality materials, works properly and is confortable on you neck, it can hold your id and even keys if you want to. im happy with this lanyard

I am one of those people who constantly loose their keys and I realized putting it around my neck would help. I wasn't only looking for comfort but something that wouldn't require me to ever take it off my neck if I needed to open my door, start my car, or plug my flash drive into my computer. The lanyard is made of soft elastic cloth, you won't notice it on your neck, especially if you have it around your neck all day. The reel is long enough that it doesn't get in the way during driving or sitting in front of a computer with your flash drive plugged in. Definitely worth buying.
