I'm fairly new at purchasing flameless taper candles but these seem to be alright so far. I must say that $20.00 seems a bit much for what you get. First of all, the directions for how to assemble these were not very clear. These are packaged with the bottom cap part of the candle separate from the rest. The bottom part cap actually acts as a tool to turn and open up the candle allowing you to insert the batteries. These candles with the bottom part attached did not fit into my standard taper candle holder, the candles were too big. However, if you remove the bottom part cap, it seems to fit. The flicker is not constant, and at times it looks like it's not flickering at all. The candles are made of plastic, no wax at all. They are turned on and off by pushing down on the artificial "flame."

They do have a nice appearance and I hope they will withstand the test of time, but keep in mind they are made in China.

We've been using various battery candles for couple years now & really like the safety factor in our 75 year-old home. Plus, we have pets inside. Love these tapers. Fit perfectly in all my dining table candle holders/centerpieces. So easy to turn off & on too. Will order more.

These candles look nice, but they do not fit in a candle holder made for real tapered candles. I was able to mitigate this problem by melting some wax onto the bottom of these candles into a shape that fits.
