Product Description

Since applying the tools I learned in Brooke's program to my everyday life, I have already released 35 pounds of fat from my body. I no longer struggle with food and exercising has become a joy that I look forward to doing every day. Shopping in the stores I once used to walk by fills me with great delight, because I can finally wear the kinds of cute clothes that better fit my personality. Once I was able to create a new mind set that I am worth taking great care of myself, I experienced more happiness than I have ever known. For me, freedom from the weight struggle has been worth taking the risk to try again just one more time.' Suyin N. Client San Mateo, CA

5.0 out of 5 stars Great Book, March 13, 2007
This is a great book. I have referred friends to it. The first day I was only able to read 30 pages and learned A LOT just in those 30 pages. Simple ideas, but put into action, my friend and I each lost 4 lbs the first week. And we've walked for an hour every day for a year and a half, gone to the gym. But it was a simple change of eating fuel food when you are hungry.I am excited to continue eating like this to reach my goal weight. Love the book!

5.0 out of 5 stars Intelligent and motivating, April 3, 2007

Among the many diet and weight loss books published each year, this is one that provides a realistic and effective program for changing your thinking about eating and dieting. Some of the book is about feelings, some of the book is about goal setting, some of the book is about self management and some of the book is about eating itself. While there are questions to write about, it is not just a book of self awareness exercises. The book explains a viewpoint that frees you from old habits of thinking related to food as well as your feelings about yourself. The process described helps you examine the deeper reasons it is hard to regulate yourself in any area of your life.

5.0 out of 5 stars Finally I have hope, May 8, 2007
I am a career dieter, so the last thing I needed was another menu plan to follow. What I needed was to change my way of thinking. Brooke Castillo has given me the tools that I needed. There are times that the words speak exactly what I feel. I have now bought 4 copies of the book to share, as well as the "coach in a box." I am confident and positive that I will be a thin person who takes care of herself. I get closer every day to that image. I can not urge anyone strongly enough to give themselves this book. To paraphrase Byron Katie (another great read whose work is referenced in this) It will change your life-- but only 100%!

More About the Author

Hi.

I am Brooke Castillo.

I used to struggle with my weight. Now I don't. I wrote a book (If I am So Smart, Why Can't I Lose Weight) on why, and helped thousands of other women stop the struggle. It is such an honor to have been able to help.

I found a way to manage my mind in a way that keeps me happy most of the time. (Self Coaching 101) After years of therapy, self help literature and coaching,it has been the most effective thing I have done to create happiness.

As a coach, I help clients all day long find a way to live that feels like a contribution. It Was Always Meant to Happen that Way is a collection of that work.

WHAT I HAVE LEARNED

Our thoughts create our reality- good or bad

We can change our thoughts

There are many tools that work effectively on changing thoughts

Our thoughts drive our actions

There is nothing we truly want that we can't have

It isn't what we get to do-but who we get to be

All of our power is in this moment right now,
but that doesn't mean we don't focus on the future in this powerful moment

It has to be fun or forget it

I take what I learn and apply it in a way that resonates

I simplify the lessons that work most effectively
I teach the lessons to others

I focus on my strengths
I never apologize for the truth
I believe everyone deserves heaps of joy in this lifetime
I know the past has no power over me
I live a life knowing that everything I want is within me now
I realize that intelligence is not just in the mind
I believe it is possible to be spiritually aligned and wealthy
I strive for the impossible so I can call on a strength greater than myself
I believe I was put on the planet to coach, teach, and Be
I believe my happiness is the best gift I have to give my children
I know my husband is the best thing that ever happened to me as a human
I am intense and focused
I love my clients and feel it is a privilege to work with them-not the other way around
I am not better than you and I am not worse than you
Reading is as important to me as showering (sometimes more so)
