4.0 out of 5 stars I loved this book!
This book does not make any pretense of being a tome about the evils of fast food meals--and it doesn't need to. We all KNOW the nutritional disadvantages and the risks we run of eating at fast food places too often--and too much. Ms. Reinart obviously lives in the real world and gives some real world ways to minimize the risks and circumvent the problems. Like, bring...

2.0 out of 5 stars Disappointed...
I purchased this book for my husband, who had heart surgery several months ago. I thought it would be helpful if he had to use a fast food restaurant for lunch. I purchased this book for my husband, who had heart surgery several months ago. I thought it would be helpful if he had to use a fast food restaurant for lunch. This book is NOT for the serious-minded person who wishes to truly eat healthfully. If you are "addicted" to french fries and burgers and not willing to try the salad bar or baked potato offerings in say, Wendys, perhaps you'll find this book useful. Otherwise, don't waste your money. The author is not a dietitian so I should have known better.

Like, bring an apple or an orange with you. Make sure your home meals are as nutritious as possible. Hold the mayo. Simple? Sure. I knew that. So did you. And yes, we would probably all be healthier if we NEVER ate fast food. But for those of us living on Planet Earth in the third millennium, this book is a handy, portable reminder that maybe we don't need the extra mayo on the Big Mac, and it IS possible, though perhaps not easy, to save the money on fancy restaurants--which are no more nutritious anyway--avoid the boredom of brown-bagging, and maintain our health and weight.
Thanks, Ms. Reinhardt!
