Some Things Never Change,

This review is from: Smart Girl (Paperback)
I bought this book for pure nostalgia. The story (circa 1982) is extremely outdated in today's world of female domination vs. male addictions. Elizabeth is a social outcast just becuase she's the smartest girl in school, yet the boy won't date her until AFTER she ditches the glasses, gets her hair cut, and updates her wardrobe. Even without the video games or online porn to compete with as the saying goes: the more things change the more they stay the same!Reflecting a more innocent time when if a boy liked a girl he asked her out and having a nuclear family was the norm for everyone this is still a fun read. |
