Love the glove!,

At first, I was having trouble with the foam "stay" slipping out of the channel on the back of the glove, but I solved this problem by simply folding over the glove about 1/2" (you'll understand this better when you have the glove on). Also, the beanbag-like palm pad seemed as though it was going to be too bulky, but I've grown to really like it: it serves to curve the palm into a very restful, relaxed position. I find that I can do most anything with the glove on, too.

Takes some getting used to,
By linuxlibrarian (MA, USA) - See all my reviews So I needed a wrist brace that would support, and allow normal range of movement-- but no *more* than normal range of movement. This glove does the trick nicely. I can type and mouse freely, but it gently reminds my wrist of the position it should be in. It *does* take a bit of getting used to. The bean bag in the palm annoyed me to begin with, now I see that it really does help eliminate strain when typing. You have to wear it a bit and sort of crunch it into position though. Also, the supports/splints in the thumb are a little long for my tastes, and I have to be sure that it's not rubbing because I bruise easily (again thanks to the EDS). So far really, though, no troubles with that. I would recommend this, not to alleviate pain so much, but as a preventative measure from doing more damage.

Interesting product but didn't work for me,

The glove was of good quality and the shipping was fast. Although it was very reasonably priced it didn't work for me. First, I am usually a size M but the glove size was really big, I should have ordered an XS or S for it to give me some sort of support. It didn't really feel that different from an ergonomic mouse pad, which tends to be a bit more comfortable since after wearing it the entire work day your palm is really sweaty and the material starts smelling funny. I would recommend this product only for people with very mild wrist pain who only need a bit of support.

I work more than 8 hours a day online at my keyboard. Much of that time is spent typing medical reports. I have used this glove for approximately 3 weeks, and I am very happy with it. I wash my gloves every 3-4 days. It doesn't seem to stretch out very much between washings and seems to be holding up well to repeat washings. I find the glove with the thumb support to be much better for my mouse hand (right) and I use the version without the thumb support for my left hand. I purchased one set and then decided to purchase a second set to have available while the first set is drying. If you know anyone with carpal tunnel problems, this is a great gift! Also, check around on the Internet and you will find that Amazon's price is the best on this item!

The wrist wrap I like best does not seem to be on the market anymore, and I love this Smart Glove--more comfortable than the brand on sale at the drugstore. Also, the ones I have now have metal supports that keep ripping through the fabric--I'm not sure why, but it has something to do with the fit, and the problem is actually worse on the newer models than the older models. Smartglove has no metal, and I think it will last a lot longer. Smartglove gave good wrist support, and also good thumb support without making the thumb totally immobile. It also seemed to breathe well, and did not seem to get sweaty as rapidly as some other hand supports. Please note that the advertisement makes it sound as if there are two gloves, but it's just one glove which is reversible (for either hand). I am giving it 4 stars because I don't know yet how often I will have to wash it, and if it will stretch out after washing it, but I really love it and am ordering three more of them! It feels great, and also looks a little nicer than some of the other clunky things I have used. I also can't give it 5 stars until I try it on a day where I am really using my thumbs like crazy all day--that will be the real test.

I was diagnosed with Dequervain's Tenosynovitis so I needed thumb support. I ordered this without understanding much about my condition. Well, free shipping takes a long time and I couldn't stand it anymore and went out and bought Mueller's Sports Medicine Reversible Thumb Stabilizer. It give me a lot of support all the way down to the wrist but felt bulky. I looked forward to receiving this glove as it seemed lightweight.Turns out, the glove has two small plastic-like supports the length of the thumb and a large padded support that runs down the back of the hand to the wrist. There are small openings near the thumb and wrist to remove the supports. The glove material is a nice and stretchy. The little bean back support below the palm didn't bother me in the least. Overall, very comfortable and lightweight. However... the supports failed for my situation. I found the thumb supports to be a moderately stiff but flexible plastic. It is way too flexible for my thumb. I rectified this by breaking two wooden popsicle sticks to size and stuffing them into the support slots. This helped keep my thumb immobilized. The wrist support kept my hand from back and forth motions but not side-to-side. Turns out, my pain is not at the bottom of my thumb but near the side of the wrist and a little up the arm. This glove has no support for side-to-side motion. I wore the glove to bed one night and woke up in intense pain as it was unable to keep my hand from flailing around. I do think the product is decently well made and will work for the situations it is suited to but it's not for me. I do sometimes use it while working on the computer where I can control my wrist movements.

The Smart Glove with thumb support is great.Much better than the ones without thumb support. Use at night after putting Absorbine Junior on hands.Helps with morning stiffness and pain. Also being able to fine the SMALL sized glove is a major plus.
