the only thing as represented in this product was the paints and black paper. the blacklight unit was burned out and was unusable.

This item was a birthday present and we have done everything to try and get it to work.
I ordered it awhile ago so being able to return it is a no go. It was a birthday present so I ordered early. He finally opened it. Painted a photo. Had us buy new batteries. (opps we forgot batteries)

And it does not work.
:-(

Plus, It says black light on the box but inside the book attached to the box it says "Black Light Effect"
Effect?
Now, since I can not get it working I'm not sure what this means. I assume a black light is different from a black light effect.

Wish I could get this working for my son. :-(

When we opened this, the light did not work. I spoke to a rep at the company (Smart Lab Toys) and she told me to be sure the tab on the frame is lined up in the holder part of the light and pressed down. Still no light. So the company sent us a new light, free, no problem, no hassle. She offered to do it before I could ask. Great customer service. Once we had the light, fun fun fun! As an adult I am not overly impressed with the black light effect. But my 10 year old is thrilled and that is the important person to please.
