We purchased these blocks to replace ones that were very worn out in our church's preschool department. These are the "real" blocks. Very sturdy, very easy to assemble. The cardboard is quite thick. In order to replace all the blocks we had to toss, we ordered from four different companies to get different sizes, shapes, etc. These were by far the best quality (thickest cardboard) and ordering from Joe's was by far the least expensive way to get the quantity of large blocks we needed. Shipping was very fast and customer service was excellent. A bit of advice for anyone ordering cardboard blocks - after you assemble them, wrap them in contact paper to make them last longer. It helps the block hold it's shape (because children will jump on them) and it also makes it much easier to wipe them clean as well as prevents children from gnawing on the corners and peeling the paper.

We purchased these blocks for our 2 year old grandson to add to his set of 16 which we had gotten him a year ago. I am very happy that these blocks are the same excellent quality as the ones we bought for our own children in the 60's. The children love building towers, steps, houses, and vehicles with them.

i had purchased the "Doug & Melissa" brand blocks which were sturdy and had a waxy coating on the cardboard. We decided we needed another set for taller tower building and I thought they would be the same. This set does not have the waxy coating and if I were to purchase again, I would get the other variety as I believe they will hold up longer.
