I have many CD's that are supose to sooth my baby. I put this CD in the car, and got immediate results. There are no startling loud sounds on this CD. I've noticed that when the cartime CD is finished playing and my player goes to a different CD, my baby starts fussing again. As soon as I put the cartime CD back on, he stops fussing. I plan to add this to my gift list for new mothers! I'm also ordering the Smart Music playtime and sleepytime.
