I firmly believe that artists should be paid for their creativity and talent. I came here fully prepared to purchase Nuno Bettencourt's "If Only" from the Smart People soundtrack only to discover some music industry weasel has made it so you have to purchase the whole album.

But here's the thing. It's 2008. We don't. If we think about it a BIT, I wonder if we couldn't find a virtual TORRENT of alternative ways to get this. When are these industry jerks going to learn their days of dictating how we get our content are over, done, finished.

I watched the movie "smart people" and even though the movie was like... "meh".. I did notice some of the music they were using was awesome. I looked via youtube, limewire, frostwire, and couldn't find a single song listed in the credits. I did a yahoo search and FINALLY found this. Amazon is the only place to get this. and I was excited so I signed up for Amazon, and got the MP3 version (there is also an option for the ITUNES download aka M4V's). downloaded the songs instantly.

Anyways, to the music.
.Pros, All the artist on this CD are impressive. Includes Nuno Bettencourt, Cherone, and The Baby Animals.
.Bettencourt has 2 of the best songs I've ever heard. "If only" and "Flow"
.You could listen to this soundtrack on repeat, all day for weeks.
Cons:
.The entire soundtrack is about 45 minutes.
.Two of the songs are instrumentals, although they arn't bad, I do notice myself leaving them out of the playlist more times than not.

PERFECT GIFT FOR A LOVED ONE.

I rarely buy soundtracks but I enjoyed the music almost more than the movie in this case and decided to purchase. The only other soundtracks I have purchased were from Garden State and Catch & Release to give you an idea of the style of music that resonates with me. Nuno Bettencourt is underrated as a musician and songwriter and I really liked the Baby Animal's tracks. They kind of remind me of 'Til Tuesday's sound.
