I bought the mug thinking that it would be good to use in the car and when I was studying (because I use my computer a lot). The usb worked maybe a total of five times, but after that it wasn't warming up anymore. It isn't a very good insulator, so without the warming mechanism, your drink will not stay warm very long. Secondly, the lid always causes spills in the car and doesn't stay on. Thirdly, the mug didn't come with instructions as to how to wash it. The RCA made it difficult to clean because I didn't think that it would work if water got into it. I bought a different mug by thermos and have been content since. In summary, don't buy this mug!

This mug will keep your drinks above warm. Not enough for steam to come out, but enough so the underside of the lid condensates. I wish the plug was a regular USB micro or something, having the RCA plug is not very universal. If it's an ECO MUG, it should be universal. Speaking of the RCA plug, they really should include a cover for it. The RCA plug makes washing a little difficult. When I have this mug plugged into my USB it is pretty weird drinking with a wire attached to your cup. I'm not really sure why it's called Eco Power though...shouldn't Eco Power be solar power? It's still using electric...and more of it if you have it plugged in all the time. Well, that's just soapbox talk.

PROS:
+ It's a great conversation piece!
+ Does what it says, drinks stay warm.
+ Stable and well balanced mug.

CONS:
- Silicone lid STINKS! Smells like rubber. I take off the lid when I drink from it, the smell will change the taste of your coffee.
- Silicone lid fits snug, but not secure.
- When washing have to hold finger over the RCA plug so water does not get inside.
- Hand cannot fit in the cup to wash. Bottom part of the cup is narrow, you will need a brush.

CONCLUSION:
Overall I like it. Just that lid...it STINKS! REALLY STINK! I could live with any other flaw, but STINK lids will cost -1 star. But again, it's a great conversation piece. Everyone comes by my office to envy my mug.

I got this to replace a $5 in store Handy Trends Stainless Steel Heated Travel Mug that broke the first time I used it. The piece on the cheapo mug that broke was where you plug the plug into the mug, it broke and went into insides of the mug. The EcoPower mug doesn't have that problem, it uses a RCA Cable type connection which sticks out of the mug. I don't think that can break too easily.

When I plug it into the cigarette lighter in the car it actually makes the coffee too hot. Plugged into my work computer it then keeps it warm all morning, but not too hot. This was my main purpose for buying a heated mug, keeping it warm at work, so I am pleased.

The only problem is the lid. I was trying to avoid buying a mug with this type of flimsy silicon lid. I spilled a lot yesterday. I'm hoping I can find another lid that will fit it.

Update 2/18: The RCA cable connector is coming unscrewed now, and I can't fix it. I don't think it is heating up anymore. However, I liked it enough that I will probably order a new one. BTW, I am not using the lid that came with it. I found a lid on a mug that I wasn't using that fit.

The mug barely keeps your drink warm. When plugged into the cigarette charger in the car, the mug becomes extremely hot and you are unable to touch it. The rubber grip on mine has semi-melted and torn. Overall I would not order this or suggest this item to anyone. The lack of a seal on the insert of the mug makes for difficult cleaning, and the mug is narrow and hard to wash on the inside. I have since placed an order for a different brand

Nice mug, but the heating aspect is terrible: only worked two or three times, so I tried to inspect it by unscrewing the connector and it broke off from the wire, meaning now the whole thing is useless aside from being just a drink container. Not exactly "eco" when the product doesn't work!
