I've had the model 100 for 8 years before it finally gave out and I'm just as impressed with the replacement model. A necessary tool for any business person wanting a professional look.

So easy to make address labels...neater than handwriting and faster!! My old Seiko 200 finally gave out(after 10 years) and this new one easily installed and recaptured my address list. This was a great purchase thru Amazon!!

I have had a Smart Label Printer at work for over 10 years and when I retired last month, I knew I had to get my own.

It is great for file folders or labeling other things. I mainly use SLP-2RL labels.

I highly recommend it if you are a labeling freek like myself.

for the price i would expect this product to last at least a year. it lasted about 6 months, long enough to be out of the warranty period and of course now i can't return it. so, i would not recommend this product to anyone.

I've been using the SLP 200 until it finally pooped out last month and there are so many things that it can used for. One example which hasn't been mentioned that I know off is to use the larger labels to label things that you store in your attic or whatever.

A quick tip on Labeling: instead of using those Black permanent marking pens which can't be erased. Use a WIDE painters tape a bit larger than your label. Place that on your container, then place the label on top of it. That way if you need to re-label, it's just a matter of peeling off the tape. As a matter of fact, you don't even need to use a label. Just write on the painters tape and peel off when no longer needed. Doesn't leave an old label that you can't erase!

For quick mail outs and if you have arthritis or have terrible handwriting, this certainly helps in making your address, Folder labels (or whatever) more ligible.

The one thing that I have against it is that because it is THERMAL printing, it tends to fade out, especially in bright light. I tried labeling potted orchid plants but the bright light soon faded the writing to where it was barely visible.

But for indoor and storage use, it works great!

We bought three. We upgraded to the 440's from the 240's as we're now on Window 7.
Reliable printer and easy to use. However, the center/align button doesn't work and we can't find how to activate it. Anyone help?

In my opinion there are the best little label printer out there. Have them at work and at home. They are like the Energizer Bunny - they run and run and run.

I've owned Seiko Smart Label Printers before and this one lives up to the quality of the previous three I've purchased. These printers are easy to install, nice because they print a single label at a time with no alignment issues, great because there is no toner to buy and last a long time. I think I've had the last printer over seven years; it finally gave out after much use. I would definitely check with Amazon first next time. I think it saved me at least $30 to buy through them. Couldn't be happier!

I HAD AN OLDER SEIKO LABEL PRO FOR ABOUT 10 YEARS. IT ALWAYS PERFORMED FLAWLESS. WHEN I PURCHASED MY NEW COMPUTER IT DID NOT HAVE A 25 PIN SERIAL PORT. MY OLD SEIKO PRO ONLY HAD THE OLD 9 PIN OR 25 PIN CONNECTORS. NOT WANTING TO TRY A SERIAL TO USB ADAPTOR I DECIDED AFTER 10 YEARS IT WAS TIME TO REPLACE THE OLD LABEL PRINTER WITH THIS NEW SMART LABEL PRINTER 440. THE NEW PRINTER LOOKS GREAT, PRINTS FAST, AND THE QUAILTY OF PRINTER IS WHAT I WOULD EXPECT FROM SEIKO. THE PRINTER LOOKS QUALITY BUILT AND I HOPE IT WILL GIVE ME 10 MORE YEARS OF RELIABLE SERVICE.

I have used this little printer at my office for about 18 months now. I love it! It's fast and easy to use. There really is nothing to do except type your label or various other items (name badges, etc) and hit print. Just bought one for home use.
