I bought this and really hoping this was the quality as the one I was looking at while in the local mall. I charged it up and then found the "A" plug/jack had a short and only the "B" plug/jack worked. Hence it worked, but I could only use one set of pads at a time. I contacted their customer service via the website (They never answer their phone or return phone messages). They finally responded and gave me an RMA and said they would ship a new unit once they received the defective unit. That all took about 10 days before I got the replacement (not too bad). I tested the replacement and found the the "A" plug/jack worked fine, but now the "B" plug/jack had a short. I am still trying to contact for another RMA, but there is no response to multiple emails. The one side works good, but if I could do it again, I wouldn't buy this brand and get a better "quality" one with better customer service.

INITIAL POST: I bought mine through Groupon and paid only $40 for it (I'd be REALLY angry if I'd paid $60!), but I have to give this a lower than usual review because after just 3 months of daily use (it was marvelous while it lasted--my mom has lumbar stenosis, and 40 minutes hooked up to this gives her about 6 hours of relief! I also have used it on someone who has gout, and it again reduced swelling and pain remarkably), it has ceased to charge. I can run it if I leave it connected to the charger, but not without, or I lose power in one of the cables.

FOLLOW-UP: I found the problem was with the main cable; replacing it with a much better quality one from BestBuy corrected the problem FOREVER. When you purchase one of these, you may get a dud or one with non-functional parts; it happens, not infrequently. The good news is, if you contact Smart-Relief directly, they will usually make good on this, if you are patient. They take a while to respond (if they ever do--on one occasion, I complained, didn't get a response, but received a replacement part in the mail at no charge!), but they do usually help you out. I LOVE these little units; they're the best I've tried. The pads have lasted almost a year with daily use, and as long as you follow the directions and moisten them before you put them away each time, they remain sticky. I now have two of them: one for my mom and one for me. I have carpal tunnel syndrome and often wake up in the night with my hands paining; I now put the pads on the inside and top of my wrist and go back to bed--20 minutes, and I'm pain free.

I am very pleased with my Smart Relief Ultimate Massager purchase. Very happy with product.The massager was the perfect size and weight.Simple, strong, and well priced.It's good for your body, head or anywhere else.I have back problems and my shoulders and neck always knots in them. It really helps a lot when I use this.

I bought two units for family and they soon discovered it came with the wrong charging cord. It is an unusual USB plug that I am unable to find a replacement. I have contacted the company through, including email and voicemail, but only received a reply when I posted the complaint on their facebook page. As requested, I have sent them my information so they could send me replacements, but they again have stopped responding. They then posted a "USB Cord" form online where you can complete this and they are supposed to send you a replacement cord as this appears to have happened to many people. This was 3 weeks ago and no contact from them, and no cord. Based on other posts, this seems to be a common problem. There are now many companies that have similar massagers. I would not trust this company.

This is the best personal TENS unit I've used, but it is supposed to be usable cordless. It held a charge for 2 days, and then refused to recharge. I now use it connected to the charger at all times or half of it ceases to function. It simply won't hold a charge. I bought it on Groupon for $40; I'm glad I didn't spend the $60+ it is advertised for here OR the $399.98 it is advertised for on Smart Relief's website! Too bad, because the product works great while it lasts.

ADDENDUM: Days after posting this review, the unit simply died; upon inspection I found that the cable connecting the charger to the unit itself had a broken wire, so rather than fiddle around with SmartRelief I went to Best Buy and purchased a replacement cable. When I plugged it in (and it is FAR superior quality than what came with this unit), the unit recharged without any problem! It cost me $25 to get the cable, as the jack is old and no longer made for cell phones, but now that the unit works, I'm happy.

I ordered a new TENS unit when I thought this one was dying, though, and out of the box, only half of it works. Connection A has to be cranked up to 10 to get even a faint pulse. I haven't yet contacted the company. I don't feel I should have to pay $16 plus s/h to return the item when it was defective when I received it. Their warranty isn't great.

My review remains at 1 because the components are foreign-made and evidently not reliable. I feel badly, because this is a GREAT device, when and if it works.
